3 hours to go. And so far not much today.

If someone makes a big splash, I think you see their competition step up their offers.
That's usually what it takes to trigger a flurry of moves.
Teams feel less pressure when no one in their division or conference is making upgrades.

Poorly planed trade deadline day for me, got calls from 1-4 PM Eastern. And I own my own company, feel like I should report myself to HR for this.
Hoping something happens in the next 52 minutes.

Well so far the best thing traded is future considerations, so he's not missing out on anything.

no thanks.
EDIT: Since 1995 only 4 teams have won the cup after winning the lottery (with the selected player still being on the team - there are two examples of winning the cup years later without the player).

This. I would let the Oilers win the cup if we were guaranteed to win at least one of our own afterwards. Ideally 2 or more because them "breaking the streak" of Canadian teams not winning the cup would be insufferable to listen to.
That's the trade off I'd make, otherwise no dice because I think we're more likely to win the cup in the next decade than they are at this point.

Trades don't usually start picking up until there's like 1 or 2 hours left, no?

Anyone opposed to a deal such as:
Kadri for Guhle? Guhle would be a good partner for Parekh.
Habs chose their top 4 left side of Hutson and Matheson. Have to think Guhle would be an ideal target for us. I know we just got Maatta, but I would rather have Guhle and Bahl in the top 4.

I want to celebrate a Flames cup win , not Oilers failure

Nope.
Oilers winning the cup guarantees them a cup.
Flames winning the lottery doesn't guarantee us a cup. I also have faith that even if the best pick the Flames get is a 3rd overall pick that as long as they keep drafting well and stock piling pick they will eventually build a contender.
So nope.

Oiler fans are already insufferable. Just the worst.
Imagine what they would be like if they win another cup?
Nope. Nope. Nope.

I don’t think the Habs are wanting to remove a top 4 defenceman without adding anouther one. They are rumored to be adding another D not subtracting from their core they already have. Think WiFi as part of a package is more realistic

I don't mind Wifi, but it would require a 1st coming back and cap. Maybe Laine, and we can flip Laine elsewhere for a conditional pick based on play/production.

Cory Perry to the Lightning, guess Coleman isn’t going there.

Probably why I shouldn't be a GM (or even an armchair GM really) but at this point, I'd move Kadri without retention just for Zharovsky lol

Yeah guaranteeing a cup and guaranteeing a lottery are two very different things.
When the goal is a cup, it's not dumb to say no to that exchange.
Oilers have 1-2 years left before they crater into oblivion. They might even crater down the stretch this spring.
I'll take no Oilers cup and the Flames continue chugging along doing what they're doing. We're drafting top 5 this year even without the lottery.

What...didn't they announce yesterday they were re-signing him in LA.
Wonder if it's going to be a trade and come back July 1 scenario.

Pretty sure it was announced somewhere last night that he was off the trade market and would be re-singing in LA

Well. Hopefully Kadri rethinks his NTC limits. I’m not too worried about Coleman, he’ll be worth a 2nd min next deadline

Looking at that Montreal depth chart, they could really use a Kadri.
Obviously they'd prefer a Thomas but sounds like the price is sky high for him.
