Yeah, an OS that was relatively easy to use and program in. Steve Jobs / The Woz, Bill Gates made computers that were useable.

I would say Microsoft licensing Windows was the invention of the modern computer, had they not we would all be trying to choose between 6 or 7 different types and OS's of home computer all of which would cost an absolute fortune, sometimes the invention isnt the technical part

Is Elon Musk the first person on Earth to equate the BBC with Tucker ####ing Carlson? I know this man says some daft ####, but damn. Of course now his followers will all think it's true. Legitimizing #### and de-legitimizing actual news organizations. What a joke of a human. I'd be curious to know see who he thinks is "moderately left" if the BBC are a parallel to Tucker.

I'm darkly curious what his "slight left" media choice will be.

CBC pausing Twitter content after being labeled "state affiliated" -> "government funded" -> "69% government funded". Musk as the maturity and petulance of a grade school kid and the ego to match. Also pretty deliberate of him to use yellow check marks to imply anything he disagrees with is yellow journalism.

Good. Twitter is only relevant because journalists and politicians use it. Fewer real news organization on Twitter will end the self-feeding cycle that makes twitter feel important (to some people).

As of April 29 Twitter is charging third-party apps used to monitor followers. The one I use will cease service as it’ll be a charge of $46,000 a month. No one can afford that.

Why would you monitor followers?

He was in politics. As a publicly visible person, I could imagine you'd want to keep tabs on your followers. Although I don't know what that really means to monitor followers, but I can imagine that a decent politician wouldn't want people who post horrible content seen as one of their followers.

Twitter has, once again, quietly updated a significant policy without explanation. The company appears to have changed its hateful conduct policy to remove a section that protected transgender people from misgendering and deadnaming

To turf accounts you don’t care much about who don’t follow back. You want to keep your following/follower numbers fairly close or it can cause problems.

For instance people might think you're a loser if you follow 1240 people and only have 137 followers. Kinda like the wedding scene in My Big Fat Greek Wedding.

What if you only follow 229 people but have 135.5M followers?

That’s okay. If you’re approaching 5,000 you’ve followed and only have <4,000 followers, for example, you could be restricted from following more.

If that’s you, well done.
