I wouldn't be surprised if it's just a plain LCD screen for release. An OLED version down the road again. Would kinda kill it for me I think. Maybe.
I'll just get both. I've always been a software first type person and there's no way I'm letting Mario Kart, 3D Mario, and whatever the hell else come in the first few years of Switch 2 (literally the premiere games that I look forward to the most out of any) pass me by waiting for a nicer screen lol.
I'm still excited, at least they've given us a date for the big showing instead of leaving it up in the air to speculate. There's lots of games to play in the meantime!
The S2 having the power of a PS4 is an interesting rumor. That basically puts it on par with the PS5 and Series X then, since most games for those are still getting released with backwards compatibility
I thought it was more around the PS4 Pro level rather than PS5 of series X. Either way, I'm happy. Nintendo finally going HD graphics 10 years later lol. I play my Switch games docked, so it doesn't bother me whether it's LCD or OLED.

Nintendo's had HD graphics since Wii U released in 2012...
Lol, you know what I mean. I'm just ecstatic the next Xenoblade game will finally run on a bit more decent hardware. Loved Xenoblade Chronicles 3, but never could get over the lingering thought as I played through it that it's just too bad this game wasn't 60fps and higher res graphics.
Comparing the same games across platforms, Switch is woefully short in graphic quality, which is what people are referring to.
If Switch 2 makes this less noticeable by at least getting up to speed with the PS4 Pro (which was very close to the quality of early PS5 games), that’s obviously a huge upgrade.
