Recapture penalties only apply to contracts that are longer than 7 years and signed before the 2013 CBA

Why would he retire and leave money, a lot of money on the table. LTIR would be the way, similar to Smid. Anyways, where is this coming from, I thought he was a fitness freak and the length of the contract wouldn't be a concern.

4 months into a 6 year deal (7 years?) and Oiler fans are talking about - hoping for - his retirement.
Lovely.

Wow with this new information, I now feel bad for the guy! His draft day must have been absolutely crushing.
Thoughts and prayers, Jesse.

I'd like to see what kind of shoes he's wearing with those sweat pants before determining if he's too far gone.

I didn't see the game but looking at the games sheet, I see it was Tenderness fighting a Chicago player (Hinostroza) who is 5'9" and 158. Hopkins outweighs him by over 30 lbs and was 3 inches taller.
I wonder what would happen if a 6'3" 220 lb player fought Hopkins.

And yet the fight was pretty much a draw from what I saw. Bravo Tenderness, bravo.

Only with 10lb ankle weights.
Reality, RNH is 175lbs 2 hours after a big meal and a butt plug.

Talbot is as important to the Oilers' success as McDavid. Here's hoping he has hit the wall.

I wonder if he is getting tired, 56 is the most games he has ever played in a season (last year).
He is at 50 already.

His numbers are starting to decline for sure but starting the backup is an automatic loss for them so I wouldn't expect him to get much rest. Even with McDavid and Talbot standing on his head this season the difference between an underachieving Flames team and the Oilers is their H2H season series. They don't have a lot of margin for error so if their goaltender isn't playing lights out they don't stand a chance of winning many games.

Gawd, everything about that sequence reeks of Oiler ######baggery. Tenderness challenges him on the previous shift, engages him and then is hesitant to drop the gloves. Sportsnet announces that he "Held his own"? Oilers are no good!
