The Bears offence has been pretty impressive at times this year. Forte really does a lot of little things well, stays in bounds when he should, picks up the right guy in pass protection. Really a solid all around football player, too bad he wasn't working with Trestman 3 years ago. Unfortunately for Chicago they got too conservative too early against the Vikings last week, and it's likely going to cost them a playoff spot.

If Rogers is back this week, than it's goingto be a wild finish in the NFC North.

Good thing Dallas fired Rob Ryan. He was clearly the problem.

Do the Packers even need Rodgers against that piss poor defense? I betcha Flynn could light the Cowboys up. Now on pace to break the 1-year old record of most yards ever...by the Saints...who hired the guy the Cowboys fired...and now have a very good defense...lol Cowboys.

Jerry fired Rob cause he wanted more turnovers. And I believe the Cowboys do have more turnovers this year, which really matters when you're allowing 450 yards a game.

So does last nights performance, and general play through the previous weeks, buy McCown another start even with a healthy Cutler?

Seems he wants a season ending injury, they've already lost Ballard, Bradshaw, Herron, and Rainey to the IR.

Or knows that just about anyone can outplay Trent Richardson.

88 yards from scrimmage against the Bengals! With Satele and McGlynn in there I don't think it's possible for any rb to perform. Worst interior o-line in the league but Pagano has a love affair for Satele even though he gets beat badl every play

Good article on ESPN the using marijuana as a painkiller. Certainly makes a lot of sense to me but I doubt the old boys club will ever accept it.

I'd much rather players use marijuana than opiates.

RGIII, from ROTY to the bench, Cousins will start Sunday. Shanahan continues to try and antagonize Snyder into firing him. What a debacle that situation is, and if they lose out St. Louis will be picking #2 at worst. They swapped picking #2 in 2012 for pick #2 in 2014, and got two more first rounders for good measure. Only the Herschel Walker trade is worse.

And this is pretty telling from the Jonathan Martin/Richie Incognito investigation

Quote:
Courtney FallonVerified account‏@CourtneyNBC614h
Sources say Jon Martin isn't turning over text messages to Ted Wells; unwilling to sit down with another independent NFLPA investigator.
The fact he's not really fully co-operating does not look good for him. Looks like Incognito might end up somewhat vindicated (i.e he's still a dick but the bullying charges are a stretch)

Out of college Sheets was a preseason star on the 49ers roster. He was stuck behind Frank Gore and didn't dress for any regular season games and was eventually waived and put then signed to the practice roster. Then the Dolphins signed him off the practice roster and that the was the last I heard of him until he showed up with the Riders.

Looking up some of his stats, it looks like he dressed for 2 games with the Dolphins and has 1 rush for 5 yards in his (regular season) NFL career so far.

So Texas is apparently going to target both Jim Harbaugh and Mike Tomlin. I know people will say no shot it happens, but I don't think its as unlikely as people think. Texas will offer the coach they want a blank cheque, and Texas does have that no state income tax thing. For Harbaugh in particular being in California (very high tax rate), it could mean $5 million a year more in money at Texas, plus the rumours they'll give a share of the Longhorn Network to Saban makes you think they'd do the same for Harbaugh. Unlikely? Probably, but Texas can make an offer that's going to be difficult to refuse.

It was done for technical reasons pretty much

The current broadcast contracts (which expire this year) require that the gap between games pilfered from CBS and FOX for Sunday night be more than three. If Pats-Ravens hadn’t been flexed, the gap would have been at three, with CBS losing 25 and FOX losing 22. Without taking a game from FOX for Week 16, only FOX could have lost a game for Week 17.
Basically they wanted max flexibility for the Week 17 game to flex anything they want.

I was thinking that must have something to do with it. The Ravens and Patriots game likely is one of the best matchups that week, and has playoff implications for both teams. Add in a rematch of the past two AFC Championship games and it is a bit surprising that it's the one getting moved.

No doubt if NBC could have, they would have pilfered the Packers and Cowboys game this week and scrapped the Bengals/Steelers. But I would guess that was Fox's protected game.

Which basically means they want the choice between Eagles/Cowboys and Bengals/Ravens. I suppose Packers/Bears and Cardinals/Niners also have outside shots.

McCown time is over. Trestman is going back to Cutler this week.
