Calgary Openings, Closings, and Developments

I just saw that Native Tongues is opening in University District. That is pretty sweet. Shoppers just opened there this week. I feel like we've gotten a good mix of restaurants there between Charcut, Native Tongues, Five Guys, Village Ice Cream and others.

Burough is also fantastic. University District has turned into a really nice destination.

They are opening a new Krispy Kreme in Calgary again?

I remembered going to the old one at Sunridge and watching the conveyor belt of deep frying the batter like the mini donuts at Stampede. At the end they gave everyone a full donut as a sample. After eating that one free sample, I was so sugared-out that I didn't want to buy anymore from them.

It began a long time ago. Structure is up, just working on the insides and parking lot. That's why I asked if anyone had heard of an opening date, yet.

This area of down has historically been lacking in cool places to eat so it's a welcome change- that being said I thought Chick Fil-a when I had it in Montana was fine, but I wouldn't go line up for it or anything- there are many Korean places that do a better job for about the same $$.
As for Krispy Kreme it's delicious when it's fresh- As a person who hasn't set foot in a Timmys in a decade or so I'll for sure check them out

I'm already factoring the stupid Canadian tradition of three hour line ups around the block for every American chain that opens here into the "opening" date. My opening date for Chic Fil A will be a 2-3 weeks after it opens when you can pull into it like a normal fast food restaurant.

Chik fil A is the fast food equivalent of Hobby Lobby. Plus if anybody is really desperate to try it, there’s one at the airport.

I actually watched the NOVA Episode with Textcritic in it about Hobby Lobby and their Museum of The Bible.
