That does not seem “reasonable to believe” at all.

If people can't understand sometimes deals are close but don't materialize they can just look at the Buffalo fiasco.

Kadri to the Avs could have fallen through for plenty of reasons.

Maybe they had a deal without retention agreed to but we had to take Ross Colton back but the Flames were on his NTC and he declined. Same with Nichushkin.

I think they just didn’t like the value on a retained Kadri

Yeah the reports line up with Colorado needing significant retention to fit Kadri in and Calgary not being wiling to retain the required amount.

Could be both.

There was reports yesterday about Colton or Nichushkin going to the Flames, there have also been reports that Mackinnon requested Kadri back. Pretty easy for that to fall through due to trade protection. Nobody would want to leave the NHLs best team to go to one of the worst.

If that fell through they could have tried to do the deal with retention instead and the offer wasn't good enough.

COL pivots to Roy

Maybe Retention ask was put high or as reported not wanting to retain because the flames had an offer on Coleman they liked more and are committed to working that deal and switching to Kadri and retention later if that deal falls through, Colorado moves on cause they believe it’s too rich or they couldn’t wait.

If the Flames had a deal offered to them on Coleman that they liked, I doubt they would be playing him.

Absolutely prepared to be wrong here if they land this plane and swing a deal or two but I do think it'll be a tough pill to swallow having listened to a full year of every media guy being like, "Well the Flames have their process and they're not in a rush to make a move" only for them to leave massive value on the table by waiting too long on key veterans.

Full credit for swinging on Weegar when they did, but man is it hard to believe they're going to get better value for Kadri and Coleman beyond tomorrow.

And sometimes they take longer to complete but still get done. Remember the Hertl trade didn't come down until just before the deadline. I wouldn't be surprised if the same thing happens with Kadri. Although, because they're trying to get both Coleman and Kadri done, they probably won't bring it down to the wire.

That's some crazy, hyperbole. Buy the Epic pass. I have two seasons in a row.

There are resorts, with serious maintenance issues, due to Murray's wallet pinching. Mont St Anne, Fernie, Kimberley, Kicking Horse. The OpEx cuts, lack of grooming, off-season cut-backs, and I've trumpeted this ad nauseum, but he has literally never made a capital investment into any of the RCR resorts.

Compare that to Charlie, who built 4 lifts in 7 years. Zero passion, doesn't ski. F*<K HIM.

Didn't Vegas wait till the very end so others couldn't react in time? I could be wrong.

It feels like tomorrow could be a big day for trades. There seem to be a couple major holdups right now, with Thomas and Trocheck being the key pieces.

The defense market looks a bit more open, while the goalie market is harder to read at the moment. Once those bigger pieces start to move, I think we’ll see the domino effect as the rest of the deals start to fall into place.

I still think Kadri and Coleman are both traded tomorrow. After the Weegar deal, I am optimistic.
