Multiple high scoring lines is 100% why they were great, you honestly think the Panthers are as good or better?

Is it two lines scoring like crazy or multiple lines now?
Don't have to be all up in arms just because I called you out on (another) total misconception about the Panthers. It's obvious that nobody here follows them, outside maybe a couple of guys. And that's really the worst take in CP history???

You think Backlund and Frolik carried him to 77 points when he was 20 years old too?

The only problem I have with Tkachuk is I don’t think he can be the primary offense generator.
He is damn fine as a complementary to a star like he did with Gaudreau and Marner in junior.
I think he’ll be just fine with Barkov. May even match or pass his career high at some point.

okay now take out the Dmen and Goalies
top 8 in scoring is my point, he needs to be a massive point producer to earn a contract like that...I doubt he is consistently in that range.

No, PP1 did.
I haven’t looked at numbers but he would’ve probably been closer to a 50 pt guy just like Backlund without it.

77 points is also a long way from 104

Not going to shed any tears if he takes a puck to the mouth and loses a few teeth... maybe even Tchuckle a bit.

I mean the Panthers season ticket holder disagreed with you so....as did anyone with eyes
Panthers were the highest scoring team in the league last season, mid pack for goals against
so yeah them having multiple high scoring lines had a lot to do with their success...their leading scorer by 30 points did too.
I notice you skipped the part about the Panthers being better or worse...

he sure does, and will double and triple down because apparently we don't watch the Panthers as well as him
Their 2nd line LW smashing an assists record didn't have much to do with their winning either

Well it was really a response to you first saying that Huberdeau is a much better skater than Tkachuck, which is total nonsense. he has always been one of the slowest on the Panthers. Whether Tkachuck is faster can be debated but I found it absurd that anyone can say Huberdeau is "much better skater" than Tkachuck. Wait until you see Huberdeau's "skip step" accelaration, where nothing happens. Tkachuck's stride is really clunky but at least he drives the net and somehow gets a lot of goals that way.
Anyway, have a good evening.

no actually it can't, quit embarrassing yourself...I don't have to wait and see anything I have watched both of them play over 100 times guy
and Panthers won the presidents trophy primarily with goal scoring, stats don't lie...everything else was average
IMO they are a worse team now, pretty sure that will be proven correct this season

I don't think they will play together 5v5 unless a guy like Lundell blows up. With those two on line 1, line 2 becomes below average compared to the rest of the league. They would have one of the best top lines in hockey, but the rest of the top 9 is uninspiring and the D is mediocre at best. I don't think Florida is going to be nearly as good this year honestly. Besides, why play your two elite 200 ft forwards with 85+ point potential together? They going to be matched against everyone's top line because not sheltering the middle 6 could be a disaster. They are going to try to create match-up problems with those 2 and work their strengths. It's funny, they could really use a guy like Coleman or Backlund to free those guys up, I'm not sure Bennett, Reinhart, Duclair, etc worry anyone on their own without a stud backing them

Duclair is also injured and not expected until about halfway through the season

It is funny, a lot of posters were up in arms pre-UFA when I said Gaudreau was only a top 10 winger and Tkachuk was only top 15. I bet most of them would have no issue with it now!
FWIW, IMO:

Do you know any 77 pt guys who are not on PP1?

The plot thickens. Capped out, top heavy, young potential stud G blocked by overpaid unmovable vet, Dcore comprised of a 1D and a bunch of 4/5/6's. Lacking picks to address needs. We complain about Lucic and Mony at $11m combined with one year? Try Bob and Hornqvist at $15m. They don't even have the assets to get rid of them and they could both retire today and not impact the team's chances at all. A young cheap G that they can't develop or utilize with 10m vet blocking and unmovable. They are going to have to trade Knight to shore up the line up and pray Bob has good year, a totally random chance based on history. Trading Knight won't fix cap though, and they need the guys making money or they are robbing Peter to pay Paul because the bad cap can't be moved with no picks for 5 years lol. Better hope Lundell and that Russian kid blow up into top line guys so they can move guys like Bennett or Reinhart for space. But who replaces them? They have no picks and who knows with the prospects left? They really aren't in a great spot at all, I would much prefer Calgary, Vancouver, Ottawa and many others tbh. I realize they won the presidents last year but I see a franchise that is probably going to be top 10 in the league for a year or two but lose in the playoffs to deeper teams with lesser cap issues that actually have draft picks!
The flames should under no circumstances trade that 2025 1st they got unless a big overpay. Give it 3 or 4 years, the Panthers could easily become lottery quality with all their issues. If they had a guy like Yzerman as GM I might not be as pessimistic but so far Zito looks like he's over his head and trying to force things, he's not patient and he overpays and I think he's overreacting to playoff losses in a small sample and making panic moves as a result

Man allot of posturing as to who is or was better. Time will tell, to me this year is going to be refreshing and have a whole new look. I welcome it! Any one know if and how Huberdeau does in shoot outs or 3 on 3 special teams? I knwonthey have used him on penalty kills so that’s refreshing lol

I agree
It’s really exciting going into the season with a completely new looking team. I have a hunch Treliving isn’t done yet either
