That would be nice. Steven Diez ranked 252 has made $36K this year. I assume he would have to finish year end top 250 to reach 75K or else he's #### out of luck? (pretending this is 2024)

Looking as though there will not be an Alcaraz or Djokovic sighting at this year's Laver cup with the final spots being announced. There are still technically reserve spots left on each team, but if they did not commit now, you'd have to think that there is no chance they will closer to the date. The two teams are quite balanced and it should be quite a battle!

Maybe De Minaur said he wasn't interested, but if he was passed over for Ben Shelton, then Johnny Mac has some explainin' to do. Nicolas Jarry (although he might be struggling with an injury) would have also been a good add to Team World.

I think De Minaru is choosing Davis Cup the week before and doesn't want to take the long flight to Vancouver. I think the Americans will be tired coming in for that reason, but they can't say no to Johnny Mac.

I think that is probably why you aren't seeing Murray either. I get Alcaraz not going as he is probably going to be completely spent after going deep at another major and having played so many 1000s. I don't know what Djokovic's excuse is as he's had a pretty light schedule recently. For a guy who is always seemingly desperate to go down as the GOAT, you'd think he'd be all over this chance to be the guy at this event.

Yeah, that's a surprise result. There is a lot of depth on the WTA tour these days though, aside from Iga, Elena, and Aryna, anybody in the top 100 can beat anybody else.

Gabriel Diallo has forced a 3rd and deciding set versus Kimmer Coppejans - Gabriel lost the first set 6-4, but broke late in set 2 and held to win set 2 7-5
Edit: Darn, tough loss for Gabriel losing 11-9 in the 3rd set tie-breaker.

Would have liked Team Europe inviting Thiem to try and kick start his career again. Being around the best players and playing meaningful tennis again might be what he needs.
