I like Boomer but it's hard to have a great sports talk morning show when the host isn't really a sports guy.

Boomer's way better at interviews though. He has the personality where he's easy to talk to, and the guests get comfortable talking to him. With Pat, I know he works hard at it, but there are still times where there's an awkwardness to his interviews.

Not here to bash any of the guys I'm not a fan of, but wanted to echo that boomer, ponder, Steinberg are massive reasons for why I turn into the station.
I really appreciate the morning show and the dynamic of boomer, warrener, and ponder. I think the show loses a lot of its flow if one is missing.

I tune in to the morning show for a chuckle and laugh, mixed with a sprinkle of sports. The three of them deliver it in spades, they have great chemistry. The afternoon show is where I get my sports fix, I think all the personalities on there mix really well. Nault is getting better, he seemed to have a short fuse for a while but seems to be by that or at least not as often

The morning show has become one of the worst shows in all of sports (hard to fathom considering YYC is one of the largest sports markets in Canada). Like if they don't get a guest on, rip for the content.
I just recently got a new truck and it came with SXM sat radio. I tune into the NHL channel on my commute every morning and that has easily become my go to. The content, guests, quality, insight, and professionalism blows the 960's morning show out of the water. I tune into the afternoon show on the 960 on my drive home because I like Pat. Nault, Gordon, and the other guys are less than ideal.

I'm the exact opposite. The morning show is must-listen radio. The afternoon show can be blasted into deep space.

I used to love it. I just feel its a bit too sloppy now and all over the place (too much focus on Fantasy football-though I do love the weekly picks segments on Friday and the results on Monday). Not enough sports talk, I guess I will forever have a sentiment for the show and the Fan in general. I think if they polished it just a tad it would be great again.
I miss the Versteeg segments and they could find some pretty interesting guests if they looked hard enough.

Must be changes coming, no Sportsnet Today today, instead there is a best of Boomer and Warrener.

I’ve been told to tune in Monday AM. Small schedule changes reflecting new program director. No jobs lost this round hopefully.

Announcement pushed until 4:15, Pat says it's all good news.
Maybe he's the new PD.

Sounds like it is going to be a shakeup of talent on the shows. I am guessing Nault and Pinder swapping morning-afternoon shifts again

New show: Flames talk
No change in the morning show 6-9AM
Flames talk 9-10AM with Pinder
Marek remains
Noon- replay best of boomer (garbage)
1-4 Nault, and Logan doing their thing (garbage)
4-7 Flames talk with Steinberg.
This doesn’t make much sense to me. Who is listening to the radio after 6pm?

Yeah, super weird "shakeup".
Why not put the mumble twins on late when less people listen? Listeners want to hear Pat and nobody wants a hour long replay of what was just on in the morning.
Sure pumped it up to be more than that.

I haven't listened to the afternoon in awhile, but if get this right, they've really just extended the Flames talk by an hour in the afternoon. So instead of 4-6, now it's 4-7, of which, that hour will mostly just be a replay of the Flames talk 9am-10am show.
So... nothing changes much at all to current line up.
Boomer, still on from 6am-9am, Pinder 6am-10am, Nault and Logan 1pm-4pm, and Steinberg from 4pm-7pm, with a bunch of replays to fill the noon hour and the last evening hour.

Well the changes are:
12-1 is a replay of the morning show/best of. They dropped the 5-6AM slot and added 6-7pm.
Worst of this is now Will Nault is the main anchor for the 1-4pm slot which will eliminate me as a listener during the afternoon. I will likely tune in from 4-5 but who is going to be listening from 6-7 weeknights? Feels like another in many recent missteps by this station. I wish this city could support 2 sports stations.
Might need to find more Flames specific podcasts to fill the day

As a guy who worked till about 6pm pre-Covid, it's kind of nice for them to extend the show by an hour to be honest, so that i can still listen to Flames talk on my drive home.
I would think more people listen at 6pm than at 5am.

I know they usually don't advertise the 5:30, but that seems to be scrapped too. The last couple of days Boomer in the Morning started right at 6.
