So last night, after Maroon fights McLeod and there's a commercial break, what's the first thing the broadcast talks about? McDavid, of course! They mentioned how McDavid hasn't fought much, but how he knows what it takes to do that, and the respect he has for Maroon.

...really? Really? No, don't talk about the guy who just had a marathon fight, but talk more about McDavid.

Had a discussion with some Oiler fans and they think that they should of picked Matthew Tkachuk instead of Jesse puljujärvi. He is the type of player they been missing etc.

an email conversation i just had with one of the guys on my men's hockey team....

Hey Chris, just wondering if I bought an Edmonton Jersey could you put authentic lettering and numbering on it?

me: is it ok if it also gets a little poop?

my buddy: Lol...baby poop.. sooo....that's a yes?

me: you bet. i’ll make sure my kids have Mexican too!

**i just had a thought... he never actually specifies WHICH
authentic lettering he wants on it... i should use the flames font! ha! ha!

I agree with the first part.

If the Flames need me to cheer for the Oilers for them to make the playoffs, then they don't deserve to be in.

There is a hilarious thread right now on HF where oiler fans are pondering the notion that teams seem to be playing pretty hard against them. In fact, they are possibly treating them like the Stanley cup champions!!! Why? Mcdavid or something.

Hello oiler fans, this is the first time you've been in this situation this late in the season in a decade. Most of you don't remember that things kinda ramp up at this time of year. Just because every team in the last 900 games of your embarrassing existence have REM slept their way to victory and have now decided they actually need to play hockey in order to beat you, doesn't make you special. Actually, it does, but not in the way you think.

Happened during the second intermission too. Gene Principe is interviewing Matt Irwin from the Preds and asked 3 questions in a row about McDavid. "What's it like playing against a player like McDavid? How have you guys been shutting him down?" Frickin' embarrassing.

Had to see if it was true. That was 60 seconds of my life I'll never get back.
Horrible just horrible. Only difference between this year and last year is the team hasn't completely imploded after game 10. Coasting to get the W against the Oilers doesn't cut it so teams have to try.

A Battle of Alberta would be cool to see but can't help but cheer for a crippling 9th place finish for the fans up north. Dare to dream.

Another game where McDavid spent the last ten minutes on the ice because T-Mac realizes that most of his team stinks on ice.

Calgary has crawled back in the race against Edmonton by winning 3 straight while the oilers have lost 3 games.

next game at Montreal.

While the purpose of this thread is to bash Edmonton, what this Oilers fan did was pretty cool:

http://globalnews.ca/news/3225778/ed...ly-unexpected/

Quote:
Christopher Smith was at the Oilers/Predators game in Nashville with his fiancee and two kids from their church. During the first intermission he couldn’t help but notice the younger boy, Zeb, staring at a gold Predators jersey in the program. Smith had given Zeb an old jersey of his to wear to the game, but the young hockey fan didn’t have one of his own.

As it turns out, Smith wasn’t the only one who took notice of Zeb’s affection for the sweater. A few minutes later, two men dressed in Edmonton Oilers jerseys came up to Smith and handed him a child-size gold Predator’s jersey.

“He was sitting two rows behind us and he handed me the jersey and said, ‘every kid should have his first jersey,'” Smith said Friday.

“The look on his face was just priceless. You couldn’t really explain, it he was so excited.”

Smith said Zeb spent the entire second intermission comparing his jersey with Smith’s. And he talked about his new jersey the entire way home.

Benning got rocked last night in Carolina, could it be Griffin time?

EDMONTON — The Edmonton Oilers recalled defencemen Jordan Oesterle and Griffin Reinhart from the American Hockey League's Bakersfield Condors on Saturday.

I know the brothers who bought the jersey for the boy. Great guys despite being Oiler fans.

Hockey God's, are you there? I don't ask for much from you, but things have been kinda hard for me and my team the past little while. So, if you're out there and you do exist, I'm just asking you this one thing: Please let Reinhart play! It would mean so much to so many of us.
