I almost never get to see Calvin Johnson play, but what a player. He's just massive and impossible to tackle. I couldn't imagine a CB shorter than 6'0" trying to go up against him, no matter how good that CB is.

Hey everyone, history is about to be made. Johnson is 4 yards away from breaking Jerry Rice's record!

So Calvin needs 108 more yards to be the first player in NFL history to hit 2000 receiving yards.
Something tells me that won't be hard haha.

Congratulations to him but it doesn't matter what record you broke no one on a 4-10 team should be that ecstatic in the post game conference after another loss.

Here we go. A bunch of important games coming up in 15 minutes. I will of course as every week be watching the Colts. Not taking KC lightly at all especially @ Arrowhead. Charles is a huge runner and the Colts are not good against the run. The key is to limit him.
Steelers @ Bengals is the huge game in the AFC. Steelers lose and they are eliminated. Bengals lose, and they are on the outside looking in with 1 week left.
Lots of other playoff implications too in both conferences!
PS......I really don't post on CP other then Sunday's anymore (at least since the NHL playoffs ended). So Merry Christmas and happy holidays to you all from me. Cheers guys and gals.

Johnson's record does lose some luster as ay 4-11 team gives a lot of opportunity to gain a lot of meaningless yardage. I'll be more impressed if Peterson sets the rushing record on a team with an 8-8 record. Johnson is a great player though, and by no means is he the reason the team is where it is record wise.

Luck breaks Cam Newton's single season rookie passing record on a 23 yard completion to T.Y. Hilton. Newton's record was 4,051 yards. Luck has 4,069 and counting.
EDIT: 4,101 for Luck now. 13-3 Colts at the half.

Wow, terrible start to the 2nd half. Charles with a 86 yard run. 13-10 Colts early in the 3rd quarter.

Why were the Bengals going for it on 4th and 22? Is Marvin Lewis insane? Did he just not know what down it was after Pittsburgh declined the penalty?

While I admit there are only a handful of commentating teams I like, I can tolerate most. However, how Simms and Nantz are the top CBS team is beyond belief. Agonizing to listen to, and Simms won a Superbowl was either by luck or a good team, because he doesn't come across as that aware of the game as you'd think a QB should be and is stuck in cliches or doing the analysis by watching the replays.
If its because he can't communicate his thoughts properly he shouldn't be in the top gig.
On CBS I like Ian Eagle and Dan Fonts, followed by Gumble Dierdorf, and Marv Albert and his analyst are better on the call then Nantz and clueless Simms. Thankfully my favorite team doesn't get much on CBS.

The ball was at the Pittsburgh 33. A punt and touchback would have meant the ball at the Pittsburgh 20 so his thinking was no huge difference. A FG would have been 50 yards and a miss would have meant the ball at the Pittsburgh 40. I probably would have punted it and tried to pin them inside the 10 if you didn't have the confidence that your kicker could hit a 50 yard FG.

Andy Hawins plays QB for Cincinnati? Jim Nantz never fails with how atrocious he is.
