It's certainly an offensive league now but still good defenses out there.
SF, Baltimore, Steelers, Texans, Giants, Bears (before Cutler died) made the playoffs because of defense.

Having said that, opening O/U on Lions-Saints is 58.5. Largest O/U in NFL playoff history.

Its more about all the rule changes that have occurred over the last decade...you can barely breathe on a qb or wr anymore and avoid a flag...then there is the illegal contact stuff...the whole game has been geared towards more offense through making it hard to stop guys. Its somewhat artificial IMO, but it sure has boosted points scored and yards made all over the place...except in Denver

What a throw and catch, wow. Reminded me of the Superbowl play (not as good but just the way it was).

They do have a good offence!

Really the yardage stat can be misleading. Letting teams drive 60-70 yards for a field goal is perfectly fine for teams like the Packers, Saints and Patriots because they'll find the end zone eventually. In terms of points against and turn overs those three teams were much higher rated.

Assembling talent is one thing. Putting together a team is the other. The Cowboys have no on field leaders in my opinion. No Ray Lewis, No Tom Brady, not even an intimidating coach. They lack situational specialty sub players too.

Enough about the Giants super bowl win, Collinsworth. After listening to him, I don't know how the Giants have lost a game this season.

Hate how Broncos and Bengals both lose today, but both end up getting in. Titans win but don't get in.
