It sounds like Biden just did a blanket pardon of 1,500 people on house arrest. There is a reasonable chance that he didn't look at the individual situations.
Which isn't an excuse obviously. It actually makes it worse and makes me wonder how many others of those 1,500 shouldn't have been pardoned.

Trump is about to do the same thing with the January 6th insurrectionists. I don't know how many people that will be, but some pretty bad people are probably going to be set free because of it.

Oh good now some Republicans are talking about Musk for speaker of the house. Weren't they freaking out about ppl in Congress being able to purchase stocks in private companies?

Biden's blanket pardon on that issue was on the urging of the ACLU, so it wasn't without any basis at all.

I don't know of anything that expressly forbids it constitutionally, but there might be House rules against it.. Or there might be House rules against being a convicted felon and being Speaker or a leader, but those can be changed.
But yeah seems to go against the idea of separation of powers.

I would only be for this on one condition.
Considering that Musk should be insanely busy with a multitude of concurrent enterprises and talking with Joe Rogan, I would only accept him as Speak of the House if....
It was done via teleconference on an iPad duct-taped to a Roomba.

I was just going to post about this as well.
Greenland belongs to the people of Greenland and can't be sold by Denmark. They are autonomous and stayed with the Danish Crown by choice. Denmark doesn't "own" Greenland and people aren't cattle to be transferred to other countries.
I guess Greenland could declare their independence and then ask to join the U.S., but I don't see why they would.
