No idea what you expect. Second best defense in the league in points surrendered.

I expect a lot better. His play calling is actually terrible. Soft zone coverage no pressure the defence did well because of individual efforts not schemes.

Oh well, can't see either of these teams beating the Bombers.

Tsn said stamps are 0-8 on the road in West Semis since 19xx. Didn’t catch what the timeline was. I imagine that covers a fairly long period.

I'll have to look up the 2001 season. That was the year they won the Grey Cuo with Crandell and a sub 500 team IIRC. So I would think they had to win on the road that year in the Division round that year.
Edit...the West was ass that year. 8-10 was good enough to host 8-10 BC. Edmonton won the Division with a 9@-9 record.

8-10 was good enough for second in the West that year.
Again, the week after Labour Day miracle, with Maas throwing an 108 yd INT on the 2 point convert at end of game to give the Stamps the 1 point win, essentially gave us the chance to win the GC that year.
The last time it looks the Stamps finished 3rd in West and win a semi final on the road was 1970?

Maier never looked comfortable today, I didn't think his feet looked good in the pocket and his throwing was erratic.
The secondary got eaten alive today, BC's receivers are incredibly good at finding the seams and spaces, and the zone coverage just didn't work.
Too many penalties leading to points, the dicipline was bad.
I think the game plan got away from Dave, whether he thought he would surprise the Lions by passing, I'll never know. But the best running duo behind the best blocking line in the CFL, and in those 10 carriers the Stamps were pretty productive. We know the Lions weakness is defending the run. But he put the ball in the hands of an inexperienced QB, that just seemed like one big nervious tick all game.
Look, I like Dave as a coach, he's smart, he's creative, and he's clearly passionate about the game of football. And I think that Delmonaco is an exceptional Oline coach. But I think its time to bring in a actual for real offensive coordinator. Especially with the increase in football operations budgets.
I also think that Monson got badly outcoached today, but Rourke makes that super easy to do.
The Stamps really need to upgrade at receiver, I wasn't impressed with the receiving core this year. I like the overall defensive personal, but the secondary was short on experience.

Was just coming here to say what Crunch said above, its time to take the playcalling out of DDs hands. He continually makes bad judgment calls at the wrong times. Huff needs to either give the hoof to DD or get someone else to run the book.
Im also not entirely sold on Meier. He is ok, not at Bo's level in his early playing days.

Agree with above. DD needs to give up play calling. Never established the run, why? Didn't even try it. Maybe if we ran it and BC was stacking the box and couldn't run then I can see but not even trying it was incompetent.
When was the last time Stamps tried to use their Canadian receivers properly? They isolate them to one side; both National Slot and WR and they are always their last read. Basically cutting the field in half. I don't think the receiver talent is that bad, but they do need to upgrade it. Bring Reggie back. Henry, Reggie, Philphot, Hakunavanhu are good receivers. Need another top receiver to replace Jorden, he's done.
BC picked on Jamerson. Need some consistency in the secondary, every year it's new guys. Time to lock up the good ones for multi years. Roberson, Moxey, Wall, Elliott are good. Upgrade others.
OL is solid, bring them all back. DL is good but need Rose needs to smarten up. His penalties are a problem. LB duo Thurman and Judge is the best in the league. RBs are great.
Wonder if Huff changed his mind on Maier. I would consider trading Maier and brining back Bo. Continue looking for another QB. Doubt it'll happen though.
Top 3 priorities:
1) Secondary
2) Receivers
3) QB

There has been a lot of negatives regarding Maier and his performance. I feel people have short memories, There were several playoff games in the past where Bo didn't excactly look like Joe Montana. I do feel like Maier is a good young QB and the stamps made the right call going forward. Will be interesting to see how the roster looks next year.

Yeah, it seems counter-intuitive to me to put the ball in Jake's hands when you have two running backs in Carey and Mills to take some pressure off the young QB. Get the running game going and then utilize play-action or RPO plays and it likely slows down the Lions pass rush. It is certainly time to bring in an OC though and take that role away from DD as mentioned earlier in this thread.

At the end of the day the CFL is a passing league and always will be.
I think Maier is a good QB who has potential, but he also needs better weapons around him and a coach who puts him in a position to win.
Henry and Philpot are two good players we have, but I think it's time to cut ties with Begelton and Jorden.
BC with a broken QB looked fast and explosive, we looked pedestrian.

I don't want to come across as blaming Maier. He's a rookie starter on a road playoff game and he has to compete with Rourke. Of course he's going to be nervous. Realistically at the start of the game, you do things to settle his nerves. Run the ball. run screens, run high percentage passes. Let him settle in and feel like he's establishing a rythm.
That didn't happen, and yeah that's on Dave who sometimes outstmarts himself with his playcalling.
If anything the biggest thing killing the stamps this year is the inconsistent nature of the receiving core. Overall it just as a group didn't look great all year, and the Stamps need to add at least an outside out threat. BC's receiving core is stellar and they made it easy for Rourke.
On defense, the front 7 was stellar all year and good in the game, but the secondary got scorched, a lot of it was the zone scheme.
I put this squarely on the coaching staff to be honest, like I said I want to keep Dave, but want to bring in a OC. An upgrade at DC might need to be looked at as well as the DB's coaching.

I'm normally very apprehensive about bad juju and predicting Bomber wins, but this Sunday, the Bombers are winning. I think they're the better team, they dismantled BC in BC when Rourke was healthy, and our guys are rested and have the best coach in the league to keep them grounded.
One of my all time favourite sports memories was when my jerk brother took me to the 1990 east final. After we kicked the game winning field goal to take us to the Grey Cup, the fans poured to the field, it's still the only time I've been on a CFL field before after a game. I remember thinking how rad it was that I was walking on the same turf the game was just played on. Christ, who could have thought after that next game it'd be the last championship I'd see for 30 years for my Bombers. Still, I don't regret a thing.
Winnipeg forever. Go Blue.

He showed some good potential in limited opportunities in 2022, good signing.
