I still think Coleman is the one I look at as not having to be dealt this year.
Focus should be on Kadri.

The issue isn’t cap next year… it’s the new cap on your playoff game day roster

It wasn't threadworthy I guess, but Nick Blankenburg (21 points in 49 games this year as a bottom pair guy) returned a measly 5th round pick.
I assume that means the market for fringe players is fairly weak. I can't see Lomberg/Hanley/Pachal being moved at those prices.

Alright, let's keep the ball rolling, Conroy!
No issues with the Weegar deal. Was hoping for 1 high end piece, but this quantity is fine. The prospect we got sounds good but weird that his stats aren't better. We should find out more about him when he and Wiebe join the Wranglers next year. Maatta is a throw in that we had to take. Doesn't hurt or add value. The 3 2nds are interesting. I don't mind them if Conroy's intel on this years draft is that it is deeeep. Perhaps the ledges are something like 25-45 are the same. I prefer these 3 2nds we got over a late 1st for sure. Basically equal to an earlier non-lottery 1st.
Onto Coleman, Kadri, Hanley please.....

Be shocked if one of Kadri or Coleman aren't traded. We still have one retention spot open that can be exploited.

Carolina is the one that I'm wondering what they do.
They have a ton of cap, are on a roll, and haven't really been included in any rumours.
Same with Detroit.
East is wide open, why are these teams not making moves to try to go win a cup.

I actually doubt it's actual penny pinching that's the problem, or cap management (although I'm sure that causes logistics challenges). It's more likely asset pinching. The risk adversity is coming in on what future assets are being given up for slightly better odds in this years playoffs.
I'm with you, this years cup is wide open. But when you think about contenders giving up futures for a run this year, that only every works out for 1 of 16 GMs. That's what is making them nervous. Even with one more shot at it with Coleman next year, the odds are not in any buyers favour.

Both those teams are reportedly in on Trocheck. Might be waiting for that domino.

Considering how out of left field the Weegar trade came, I don't know how tapped in these insiders are on the team. Conroy had said he had been talking to Utah for a while about Weegar.
Dreger could just be helping his cousin with these tweets. I think at least one of Kadri or Coleman is traded by tomorrow afternoon.

Interesting to read from Dreger that there is as much as 15 teams interested in Whitecloud. That said I really don’t feel that the Flames would have any interest in moving him now, especially after the Weegar trade.
As long as McKenna is a possibility for the Flames, I have a feeling that Whitecloud is basically untoucheable as well, as he would be a great mentor for McKenna

Obviously, Conny has had serious discussions with both Kadri and Coleman about being moved- how could he NOT trade them now? I understand how negotiations work, and that you sometimes have to wait for the right deal, but that just seems cruel at this point.

I think Kadri is reliant a bit on trocheck deal. Coleman is reliant on a good enough retention free offer. Interesting 24 hours ahead

I've said it a few times
4 players traded
One of Kadri or Coleman
One of Weegar or Whitecloud
One of Hanley or Pachal
Lomberg

15 is crazy! I wonder if Vegas is one of the 15 teams. lol They have been falling apart since he left.
If someone offers a 2026 1st do we take it?
