Treliving has little to mess with here. Matthews, Nylander and Knies are his major trading chips. Almost everything else is worth less than a 2nd rounder.

If the Flames end up moving Kadri and Coleman before the deadline, that will leave 3 forward aged 30+ on the current roster heading into next season. Backlund, Huberdeau, and Lomberg.

If Lomberg does re-sign, I could see if being higher than we expect just to help with the cap floor for the next few years.

Here are the deals I would like to see before the deadline
Coleman 50% retained + Pachal to Tampa O’Reilly and 2nd
Kadri to the Habs for Laine and 1st
All picks in the upcoming draft. 3 1st, 5 2nd and 2 3rd. Would be an exciting draft for sure

At this point they might have enough 2026 picks.
Distribute some wealth into 2027 and 2028 now too

Treliving struggling:

“I don’t think he has teams,” the league source said of Treliving. “Other teams smell blood in the water there and won’t give in on return.”

Florida fielding offers on Bobrovski. I guess they are throwing in the towel on the season, or has Bobrovski been bad?
edit: Looking at the standings obvious answer. I didn't know they dropped that far off pace.

I wouldn’t be surprised if one of those picks isn’t used before the deadline.
Kadri/Coleman and second for Conor Geekie for example.

Would love to see the Flames grab Laine no matter what.
If that means that we can another pick then perfect!
The worst thing that could happen is that our powerplay improves a bit.
Going to be space, going to need to fill up the roster. Laine, while flawed, can be an interesting pick up.

Hughes returned Buium. Need to keep that in mind when targeting the top talent from other teams.

I would definitely pass on a Geekie at that price. Don’t think anyone would give up the equivalent of multiple picks for him. Kind of surprising that he made the Lightning last year and has been unable to crack their lineup ahead of James and Goncalves this year.

Dreger says offers for Coleman not good enough. 40% chance he gets traded.

Scoring Winger

As long as one of Kadri or Coleman go, I'm happy.
If we keep Coleman, trade him at the next deadline.
If we keep Kadri, trade him this summer (because he will be miserable on a losing team).

Meh, imo in the 2026 draft picks 16-32 probably have a 1/3 chance of hitting but picks between 33-49 probably have a 1/4 chance of hitting. Even if those picks are 1/5 chance of hitting I think Conroy just decided that a 60% chance of finding a player was better than a 33% chance. All indications are that there is not a huge difference in value between 20-50 in this draft. I suspect he could have pushed for the Utah 1st if he really wanted but decided to take the quantity instead.

I feel like part of the reason Conroy was OK with dealing Weegar is how impressed he's been with Whitecloud.
