This is a bummer. Wurster is still drumming for two great bands though.

Coincidentally, Superchunk's On The Mouth came out 30 years ago.

Adam and The Ants' Prince Charming.

I bought this record cheap and didn't really know what to expect. I was expecting some new wave but this album is a lot more than that. They splice quite a few genres into their sound. A lot of country influenced stuff. Just a really fun record.

The Unintended were a Canadian "supergroup" featuring Rick White, Dallas Good, and Greg Keelor.

The influence of Rush is just dripping off of this band like so much maple syrup. And that isn't a bad thing at all!

She is one of those artists people in the know rave about, having been in indie bands The Postal Service and Rilo Kiley. Apparently I’m not one of those people, having just discovered her.

Pretty solid album from Jad Fair and somebody I've come to like, Samuel Locke Ward

The whole album Happy Hearts is available anyway. Enjoy!

Steely Dan is more punk than Steve Albini. There is not a band on earth he won’t produce for a buck.

Albini prefers the title, "engineer". He famously lost out on cashing in huge royalties from Nirvana's "In Utero" because of it. That's pretty punk.

I don't necessarily agree with his opinions on Steely Dan, mostly because I don't know enough about them, but I do like his candor. Plenty of artists I like and respect came to their defence so maybe he's wrong.
