Give me anyone at this point. How many more chances is he going to get?

Point being we shouldn't. Like I said before, Huf gave him dynasty teams and he only has 2 rings.

What I don't understand if you have a young QB in Jake Maier who is making his first playoff start (I know it's the same for Rourke with the Lions). You'd like to think you try to ease him into the game somewhat and insulate him with the rushing attack, yet DD seemed to want to put the ball in Jake's hands. I don't know, maybe they tried to catch BC napping early expecting the rush.

Dickenson trying to be the smartest coach in the league instead of settling for competent coaching and trusting his players to execute. The obvious game plan was to control the ball on the ground, never let BC's offence get into a rhythm, tire out their defence and dominate the 2nd half like they have all year. But no, he has to try to be Mr. Big Brain and go with the short passing offence that has been mediocre every other time they've tried it.
He might even be ruining Maier. Remember when he started his career with 3 straight 300+ yard games? Not getting back to those numbers throwing it behind the line of scrimmage more than half the time.
And that leaves aside his perplexing game management. Unorthodox play calls can work, but not if you are predictable at when you use them. 3rd and 2 and within field goal range? Give it a 50/50 chance the Stamps try something tricky.

Oh, and if Killam is being wooed by other teams, promote him to head coach.

so you are saying drinks for $19.50, and water for $5.00 isn't family friendly? LOL, everything you say is bang on. unless i am hallucinating, i think i saw a tweet from Danny Austin saying this might be the last game for the stamps under the CSEG ownership?

This game was a Dave Dickenson playoff special. The guy just can't get get out of his own way in playoff games. Those 3rd down decisions when the game was still on the line pretty well sunk the team. The refusal to run the ball in the 1st quarter. Dressing Jorden who can't play anymore. Just a bad day all around for the head coach.
All of that said I'm not overly surprised they lost as I had a hunch the Lions would take this one. I had noticed over the last three weeks that teams had caught on to Maier and the way Dave was calling nearly exclusively a short passing game. Maier's production was dropping weekly and you could see once the Lions got up by a few scores that the QB has issues throwing the ball down the field. I just don't think you can win against the best teams in the league when your QB can't make all the throws especially the downfield. It's going to be an interesting offseason as there's no way Bo stays and I don't know if Maier is the answer at QB.

I’ve been pretty deferential to Dickenson over the years but hopefully this is a bit of a wake up call. Playoffs is a different monster and the results speak for themselves the past few years.
Like that Bo could go out with some scoring drives but BC’s defence was just playing prevent and letting them have room underneath. I’m not convinced pulling Maier earlier would have led to the same kind of results, but I guess we’ll never know.

Yeah discipline in big games has also been an issue. That offside on 3rd down that led to points was just laughably bad as everyone in the stadium knew they were just trying to draw a defender offside and yet Rose still can't control himself. Several times the Stamps turned punts into Lions scoring drives through poor discipline and when you combine that with questionable play calling on offense the team just couldn't get out of their own way. Another season of one and done in the playoffs and the same old story of the Stamps shooting themselves in the foot.

not a great way to end the season but at least we arent the Edmonton "we wll never win at home again" Elks. Just trying to be positive. As per every year, will be interesting to see what the roster looks like next year. Tommy as the 2nd string?

How many times do we have to watch him make egregious errors in play calling and other bizarre decisions, not to mention how undisplined and unprepared his teams look in general.
Need to find a new coach that can correct those issues.

This franchise should have had 4 or 5 championships in the last 10 years or so, not two. Huff put together a dynasty level team for the better part of a decade, only for the team to slip in the playoffs or Grey Cup game.

Yep. Dave has cost the team two Grey Cups all on his own. Now they don't even get to the Grey Cup as that's now three straight one and done playoff losses. I think Dave's still a great head coach but the playoffs have become his nemesis.

There is no way Dickenson is being fired he was the hand picked successor. I do think we need some fresh ideas on both sides of the ball and getting rid or Monson is a start. We have had a lot of success with players becoming coaches. Mace, Claybrooks, Joshua Bell. Bo seems like a great candidate but I think he still wants to play.
Claybrooks was great as well what happened to him? I met him at National 5 years ago he bought everyone drinks around me but not me I guess he felt bad and went back and bought me beers. Nicer guy actually.

That play call against Ottawa still bugs me we got on a roll and he got in his own way and did the end around play and we got stopped and kicked a FG to tie.
He needs a George Cortez on the staff.

Monson did a tremendous job this year considering the massive injury situation they had to deal with.
No idea what you expect. Second best defense in the league in points surrendered.
