I remember nothing about 2008 prior to the US Open. Pretty sure the entire ATP season was cancelled up to that point.
It's so funny that at the time people were already writing Federer off in 2008 considering he lost in Australia to some kid named Djokovic then lost to Nadal in 2 major finals and won the US Open. I think kids forget how dominant Fed was . Between June 2004 and Sept 06 Federer went a ridiculous 193-11 with 5 losses to Nadal. So his record against everyone else was 191-6.

I mean, the bolded part has to be done. His game has regressed so badly in 2023. You just don't know what Felix is going to show up from one day to the next. He hit one ace to nine double faults in today's match. Both the forehand and backhand were awful. These issues have been lingering for so long now that it makes me wonder what the hell Fontang is doing.
He's no doubt regressed, but how much of that is due to injury and lack of healthy playing/practice time? He certainly needs a fresh voice with fresh ideas in his camp though - every coach has a shelf life and this partnership has been a long one.
My worry with Felix is that like Shapo, he will be unwilling to address holes in his game like the backhand stroke and second serve. Even with those issues, you still are left wondering how a top 20 player can hit so many glaring unforced errors off his at times lethal forehand too.

I agree that the knee issue he has been dealing with has certainly cut into his practice/prep time. I just don't see the adjustments and diverting from the plan when things aren't working. Against a guy like Mannarino who loves re-directing pace, you would think the plan would be to give him high, looping junk balls to both wings with lots of margin and wait for a short ball to pounce. Instead, Felix was hitting his regular shots from both wings and Mannarino was just soaking up all the pace and getting everything back waiting for Felix to commit the unforced error. Now that coaching is allowed, you would think that Fontang might have some suggestions for Felix to try, but I don't see much communication between the two during a match.
After the US Open, Felix has a ton of points to defend and we could see him drop out of the top 20 if he doesn't right the ship soon.
Charlie was down 4-1 in the second set tie-break to Hubi who also had the first set in his pocket. Alcaraz wins six straight points to force a 3rd and deciding set.
Why is it that female American tennis players are 100x more likeable than male American players?
I think I'm going to need further explanation on this one - I guess I'm looking for more details on which American male players you don't seem to like NF. I mean Fritz, Tiafoe, Paul, and Korda seem to be pretty good guys for the most part, is there something I'm missing?

It's really two fold
1) All the American women are super easy to root for, especially Keys, Pegulla, and Coco.
2) The men keep beating players I'm cheering for
