When the light turned green she immediately turned right into the left lane without signalling only to get into the right lane 100m later. Typical struggler.
What’s the point of a red right arrow if you’re still allowed to turn after a complete stop. A regular red has the same rules.

Because driver's are so incompetent these days, they just keep dumbing everything down in the hopes the public can keep up. I hear next they'll replace green lights with "make go now" signs.

You can't turn if it's a red arrow, but you can if it's a solid red. The problem is people can't tell the difference.

This is the signal I'm talking about. When it's solid red you can make a right turn when it's safe. If the red arrow is lit then bikes have the right of way and you can't turn. Simple? I think so but I'm not an idiot.

I should probably just get a popup/ad blocker to deal with this gear grinder but the Flames need to get rid of that stupid timed ad on their website when it first loads.

If I saw this light for the 1st time I'd probably get out and call a taxi

Eh, I give people at that intersection a break. It is the only "no-right-turn-on-red-arrow-but-right-turn-on-solid-red" light I have ever seen. I think if you put most experienced drivers out there in front of this light they'd be confused and/or laugh at the convolution.

That f—king light gives my horn a workout every time. Read the goddamned sign and TURN.

That light/sign situation seems confusing. I think it would fata me up my first time rolling up to it. I haven't been there so this is the first time I've seen it.

It does take a couple times through there to get familiar with it, that signal type is relatively new. Maybe the signage could be bigger and clearer?

Why even put up the sign? That's the confusing part. The red-illuminated arrow should be self-explanatory.

Oh I see. Have never driven that way through there. Signage is pretty straightforward to me, but nothing is for the general strugglers. This morning I had a guy in front of me stop one car short of the intersection in the turn lane and try to park.

The signage sucks but it shouldn’t take more than a few seconds to decipher. And if someone explains it to you, even if they do it heatedly, and you still refuse to turn you’re a blight on our streets.

Because you can make a right turn on the red light but not the arrow because of the bike lane. If the sign wasn’t there then drivers may assume they can do the same on the arrow and possibly get in a collision with a cyclist.

Why would a driver assume they could turn right when the red arrow is turned on? You don't need a sign for that, you only need a sign when there is no red arrow as part of the set of lights. You don't need a sign to explain what a green left turn arrow means. Weird.

It would probably be better and less confusing if the city installed an illuminated sign with a crossed out arrow that lights up when it is not permitted to turn. I'm pretty sure I've those signs at some intersections in Calgary but I just don't remember where (maybe at 17th Ave SW?)

Yeah I was thinking this as well. That would make way more sense. There's one of those on MacLeod and 5th Ave iirc

I dont get how people dont understand that its confusing.

You've got a giant 'NO RIGHT TURNS' right at the top.

Then you've got a 'RED' right arrow. Red typically means 'STOP.'

If that was the first time you came to that sign? Yeah, I totally get how someone would have no idea what to do.

People don't even know what to do with yield signs, you're expecting too much, lol. Fuzz nailed it with having to dumb things down
