I'm so confused as to what you trying to say, I do know for a fact Indianapolis didn't clinch a playoff spot this weekend. They needed a Cincinnati+ NY Jets loss for that to happen. They clinch a playoff spot in week 16 with the following:
1) Win or tie OR
2) PIT loss or tie + NY Jet loss (not sure how that works know since I saw that this morning before they were eliminated tonight).
What's the tie breaker to use? Colts did not play the Bengals or Steelers this year. All 3 teams would have 9-7 records and 6-6 conference records. So is common opponents next on the list? In that case I think you need to have all the info to break that tie.

why the Jets decided to extend sanchez last year is beyond me.... what a terrible organization, what do you expect when your owners name is Woody Johnson.... does rex keep his job after this debacle of a season?
I would say no but with Norv Turner keeping his job this long. Andy Reid keeping his job, Romeo Crennel getting hired again, Chan Gailey having a job, Garrett looking like he is going to stay in Dallas and the other countless shocking hires/guys keeping jobs it seems to make no sense the decisions that some owners make.

As best I can tell the Steelers hold the tie breaker over the Bengals in this scenario. So to break the remaining tie, it's common match ups with a minimum of 4 games. Cleveland and KC are the only common opponents so not enough games for that one to count. After that it's Strength of victory. So at that point you need all the info to break that tie. Won't matter, the Colts will beat the Chiefs handily this week.

Lol sorry. I was trying to say that use the simulator link from ESPN that I gave. Put in Colts losses for weeks 16 and 17. Also put in Bengals and Steelers wins for week 17.
Bengals-Steelers play week 16. Put in a win for either team or a tie. Try Cincy first and then Pittsburgh 2nd and then the tie. It says the Colts get in with whichever scenario happens. Simulator is obviously wrong.
Someone on ESPN explained the Colts scenario. The only way the Colts can miss the playoffs is if ALL the following happen:
Colts lose twice, Steelers beat the Bengals, Bengals beat the Ravens, Chargers beat the Jets, Raiders beat the Panthers, Chiefs beat the Broncos, Vikings beat the Texans, Jets beat the Bills, Bears beat the Lions, Jaguars beat the Titans, Patriots beat the Dolphins, and the Steelers beat the Browns.
I tried it on the simulator and indeed it is the only way the Colts miss. All that has to happen. But technically that is why it doesn't say x-Indianapolis.
Mark Sanchez benched. Greg McElroy is Jets starter Sunday against San Diego. Was Monday the last time we will ever see Mark Sanchez take the field in the NFL? It was something special with how awful he really was.

Interesting that they're going with McElroy over Tebow.

Well, Tebow is sort of a disaster and since the Jets have no passing game, there's no one better than an Alabama QB to rotate at the hips and pass off to a Running Back.
You can't play Tebow now because if he wins, even these two meaningless games, people will go beserk and Ryan will get (even more) heat for not playing Tebow sooner. Oh, and Tebow sucks too which might have something to do with it.
Also, imagine the Jets with steady QB play this season. Probably a playoff team (#8 defense overall, #2 against the pass).

I was half joking with a buddy today if KC's starting QB next year would be Sanchez, Phillips, Vick or Flacco. I don't think it would unreasonable to think all four will be available.
Or Alex Smith.
KC seems to like former 49er QBs.

Their offense is just abysmal overall. From a bad offensive line, to a bunch of no name wide receivers, and a mediocre running game (Greene is only rushing 3.9 YPA). As bad as Sanchez has been, management is in part to blame for not giving him really any good pieces to work with.
