Does anyone know when the Flames started using the Atlantic Flaming A for the alternate captains? Only disappointment I have with the retro jerseys is that they have a stupid (though retro accurate) normal A.
It had to be the pedestal jersey immediately after though right? I wouldn't mind seeing retros with Flaming As to see how they look.

When I scrolled through my social media feed and saw that pic, I wondered if I saw a pic of one of the guest starts in the new Criminal Minds reboot/restart.

If I had to guess
A black /chevron striping Blasty = New Third/Alternate
Atlanta "Flaming A" = Heritage Classic or Reverse Retro
The pedestals, I think, will stay on hold for a while.

As far as I can tell, they switched to the Flaming A for the Alternate Captain (and briefly the Flaming C for the Captain) at the start of the 1995-96 season.
The first season with the pedestal jerseys was 1994-95. That was Otto's final year with the Flames, and this photo shows Otto with a normal A on his jersey: https://www.gettyimages.ca/detail/ne...photo/53266737
Steve Chiasson wore an A in Calgary for only one season, 1995-96. Here's a photo of him with the Flaming A on his jersey: https://www.bestsportsphotos.com/pro...ry-flames-8x10

Is this an actual game jersey or just a warm-up jersey?

Justin Bieber fans who are hockey jersey buyers? I guess that's pretty niche.

But in the GTA, that niche is 10s of thousands of kids

The black and blue one is sharp but the black and yellow one looks stupid. The mini leaf inside of the larger leaf looks dumb and kinda like a smiley face.

Beiber has 225 million instagram followers. My guess is there is a few jersey buyers in there. Neat concept, the reversible part.

It was '96-'97 that they made the switch. Chiasson was also an alternate captain in '96-'97 prior to be traded. They were still wearing the 'conventional' A in '95-'96:
This is a screenshot of footage from Game 3 of the '96 WCQF against the Blackhawks (1:48); Chiasson is on the right:
Phil Housley was also an alternate captain in '95-'96 prior to being traded to the Devils:

I had a hat once that was this the red flaming A on black. It looked great. Would buy a jersey like that so fast.
