I don't know if Felix is going to win this match against Berrettini (lost the first set, but up a break in set 2), but he's playing some nice tennis today (some of the best I've seen from him in 2023).

Edit: Felix breaks Matteo to take set 2 6-2. We are going the distance.

Berrettini taking a break before the start of set 3 to cool off Felix as well as trying to get his head straight.

And the rain has returned to Cincy. Hopefully, just a short delay.

Edit: It was indeed a short delay and Felix holds to remain on serve in set 3.

Not sure if this was posted already, but it looks like Andreescu is battling yet another significant injury. Becoming more clear that her best days are likely well behind her if it wasn't already obvious.

Back at it already - FAA is looking much better than he was in Toronto. You still have question his decision making in some situations but at least it appears that he's starting to find his stroke against a pretty formidable opponent.

Yeah, I like the emotion he's showing on court today and the decision making as you mentioned HF is questionable at times, but I think it's certainly better today (as in being willing to rally and resetting the point rather then going for high-risk winners that often fly long).

Felix gets Mannarino next which if he plays as well as he did today should be a win and then could face Holger Rune in round 3.

Venus Williams still winning WTA matches at the age of 43 is pretty cool.

Not sure when play is going to resume in Cincinnati, it is raining cats and dogs as I type.

A ton of tennis on tap today - Lehecka vs. Fritz on Center Court to kick things off.

You know, sometimes you watch an extended tie-break and it's chock full of tremedous shots and tension. This opening set tie-break between Fritz and Lehecka is not one of those lol.

Lehecka double-faults to gift the opening set to Fritz losing the opening set tie-break 16-14. Unforced errors in that opening set: Fritz 24, Lehecka 30

It was a little breezy out there today, but Fritz made short work of Lehecka in set 2 winning it 6-2 to advance to the next round.

Completion of yesterday's matches have Coric taking out Korda and Stan advancing over Nakashima.

As well as Felix played yesterday, he's about to go down in straight sets to the pusher Mannarino. Didn't even have to do all that much to break serve and then gives it right back broken at love.

Man, that forehand shank by Felix to end the match kinda sums things up. He lost the last eight points of the match crashing out meekly.

Check out these match stats, if it was a movie, it would be rated NC-17

It's stunning how Felix and Shapo have both fallen off the map. 2023 has been a tire fire for both players. I really think Felix needs a change at coach. His backhand isn't getting better and his forehand and serve have regressed. I actually think if Shapo could get his head together he could get back on track but Felix's overall game just doesn't threaten top 50 players right now. He needs a lot of work to his overall game.
