You like living in a 10 degree room?

Not to regress to schoolyard level poop hurling but wow, you're a freak.

Lower temps are actually ideal for getting a deep sleep and staying asleep but 10C is ####ing unnecessarily frigid.

My place's electricity was out for a week once in the fall and I don't think it got that low.

Maybe some of these people's sweat glands don't work or something because Alberta heat is hardly "hot" compared to most of the rest of the planet outside of the arctic circles.

It's not even humid heat most of the time either. It's dry heat, where you can still breathe and a slight breeze will make it feel cooler than it is, as opposed to humid wind which does nothing.

The people whose comfort zones top out at an Alberta 21 degrees would suffocate and die in most other places in summer. Hell, a river float in 25 degrees here I would still get cold because the wind cuts that heat in half if you're in the shade.

Tbh it's really not that bad at all, untll you get into the 30s.

I dont love living in a cold room, but I love sleeping in a cold room.

Theres nothing better than it being cold and you're curled up in a nice warm bed.

People always say crap like this, yet when we can choose what temperature to keep our houses at I never see anybody crank up their furnace past 22. Most people I know keep it anywhere between 19 and 21, and even colder at night. Wonder why that is? It's not even financial...it's that humans are comfortable in that range.

Would I find it too hot elsewhere? Yeah, I would. I've had to spend more time than I'd like in Arizona because of family stuff there and I ####ing hate it. Heat is oppressive and depressing.

But I will say this...if you like heat so much, don't live in Calgary. I truly believe I could make living in the USA in some warm state possible if that's where I wanted to be. I'd find a way...can't be rocket science.

As a warm blooded animal, it's actually a metabolism thing. Your body adjusts pretty fast to the typical ambient temperature over the past few days and produces excess heat to match that, that's why 10 degrees is T-shirt weather in the spring and winter jacket weather in the fall.

We're coming off a couple weeks approaching 30, so this sucks.

There's a difference between room temperature and outdoor temperature. Indoor regulated 20C is not the same as outdoors at 20C. Outdoor temperature has factors of wind and sun that can make for drastic swings at any particular moment to a stationary human. If we are talking about being comfortably warm then 24C is probably the absolute minimum outdoor temperature where you can be comfortable where wind and sun going in and out of clouds won't be a factor especially in a climate like Calgary where heat is highly dependant on the presence of sunlight.

Unless you don't have enough blankets. Being too cold for me sucks more than being too hot.

Don't get me wrong, both extremes suck. That's why I have A/C so I'm always in the 20ish temperature range, hot or cold outside.

I need to get back to practicing Wim Hof so that I can do more "shirtless in all scenarios" type of ####.

It could be, but then it wouldn't be perfect.

It is entirely possible that the 'Hood is going to get washed away.

It is Biblical out there.

Storm popped up and battering East half of the city and moving towards deep south.

West half pretty free and clear (for now)

I’m confused - west side is fine… maybe you meant the mediocre end of town?

I’m not sure how to capture a gif but the current wmi radar loop has an outflow blast that is registering on the radar. If you check the link it’s up by Sundre. Neat!
