9 holes vs 18 but I have golfed both this year and like them both.
Brewsters has a lot of winter kill on their greens this year, particularly the back 9.
But in general Brewsters has narrow fairways, Livingstone is a little more forgiving if you spray the ball like I do.
No sand at all on Livingstone and I find it forgiving for higher handicappers or a good course to go with a spouse or the kids. I mean that in a positive way and by no means is it a negative if you are doing a round with a buddy.
At this moment I would probably pick Livingstone over Brewsters.

Just played Livingstone today. It's a good course for a short relaxed round but I think it's a little over priced. $50 with a cart for 9 holes and it's not a full length course, they also cancelled.their twilight pricing. Par 4's hover around the 300 yard range but because of its layout I wouldn't want to golf it without a cart, a few of the holes have pretty good distances between the greens and the next tee box. On the positive side the two times I've played it have both been almost exactly two hours so not too much waiting around at the tee boxes.
I've never played Brewster's Kananaskis Ranch but have a time booked for next week so I'm looking forward to comparing them! Brewster's is $70 for 18 holes with a cart, never golfed it so don't know if carts are really needed but I tend to default to cart golf if I've never golfed somewhere before (bad knee so it can wear down with too many hills).

I learned to play the game there. An historic clubhouse and a decent enough track. What you are probably not going to find is spectacular conditions.Fairways can be patchy with thinnish grass and not sure if they ever fixed the "concrete" greens.I stop every 5 or 6 years mostly for the sentiment. Not suggesting you cancel your tee-time,just don't expect too much.
Pro-tip.Lay up short of the water on #5.Fairway is narrow next to the lake.
You are right about the views.Enjoy your round.

Can't argue with the Livingstone stuff. It's disappointing they got rid of the twilight pricing, that was the main draw for us. We've always walked it, it's not too bad but yes some longer walks to the next tee and a hard one from the 9th green to the clubhouse when you are done.
We carted at Brewsters but saw plenty of people walking. There are also some longer distances between holes and lots of elevation change so it would be a tougher walk, especially for 18 holes. The big drawback is they are cart path only.

Nice selections. Harvest is a must play while in Kelowna. Only course close to that is Tower Ranch which can be punishing.
I'll be looking forward to your review of Olympic View. It is tight and requires some serious accuracy off the tee to score well. I would recommend hitting something other than driver for position unless you are uber confident in pounding the driver.
Bear Mountain is a gem. Both courses are great, but the mountain is probably the more playable of the two. Greens are fair and when you have a look should be able to score. The secret is getting in position to get a look! The back nine is going to play with your head, so be prepared for it.

Watch out for #11 (I think it's 11, the par 4 after the island par3) at Bear Mountain, it's a blind tee shot.

Yes, it is #11. Hole sets up for you to hit your drive in the water as it looks like there is nothing but death right. Take your drive over the center of the hill on the right and you will be in for a pleasant surprise. There's more room than it looks and everything feeds back to the left. #12 is more of a challenge IMO. What looks like an easy tee shot is tougher than you expect. Keep it down the right side and don't be afraid to hit it! #13 is where the games begin. I won't spoil it for you. Have fun! Oh, and load up at the half way house before #10. Lots of goodies there that will get you through the back nine.

I think Brewsters is a great course tucked in the mountains with an even better price. It's been awhile since I played there, but last time I was there I got my first and only albatross on the par 5 1st hole. Made my buddies finish the round in pouring rain to have a complete scorecard that I now have no idea where it is lol

Played Olds yesterday. Nice enough course but very forgiving. Wide fairways, short rough, not many hazards

not much of a "victory" but for me, I managed to put down a 46 (one of my lowest half scores ever) at McCall Lake front 9. I usually shoot over 100, managed to get under 100 a couple of times - may be a bit easier but I am really happy. I just gotta keep reminding myself to take it easy and not to kill the ball and let the club do the work...
hoping the next time I go out I can continue with that momentum (though I don't play much in a year)
happy golfing everyone!

I'm impressed he was able to get down there from the 7th hole. It's a pretty decent slope and it's all eroded from the 2013 floods.

Course was in awesome shape. They’ve had a lot of rain lately so it was nice and soft.
$67 for 18 holes, cart...8 beers for $30...unbeatable deal for gorgeous mountain course. I’d definitely recommend stopping in for anyone passing through Revy

Anyone played in Whistler? Heading out next week to see the in-laws who live in Squamish. We are staying in Whistler for three nights at the Hilton. Going to play Whistler Golf Club, Big Sky in Pemberton and need to decide on the third, either Nickalus North or Fairmont.
Any thoughts?

Glad to see you had Big Sky on your list. I think that's the best course of the bunch, even if the conditions sometimes may not be comparable. Of the rest I think it depends on what you like to play. Nicklaus is a great course, but it is a fader's golf course, which can get tiring if you're a right to left player. I've always scored better on Fairmont which is probably why I prefer it, but you can't go wrong with either of them. It was like asking which to play, Mt. Lorette or Mt. Kidd at Kananaskis. They were both awesome. Enjoy your trip. I'm peanut butter and jelly!

I played Olds a few days after that hailstorm. My feet were soaked the whole round! Good for $32. Not a fan of the green placement on #18 though. If you miss right you could hit the clubhouse, or worse, you'd hit the cart path and into the parking lot.
Played Winston earlier this week. Luckily I was grouped with a member so had a decent idea of the layout. I'm happy with my 50% fairways hit but everything after that was horrible. Back to putting in the 40s didn't help either.

Winston is hard the first time you play it. After that it's very gettable.

Bumping an older post so things may have changed significantly in the meantime. Playing Bearspaw again tomorrow and the confirmation email indicated cart sharing is now allowed although they recommend wearing masks (but not mandatory).

I should say that getting a membership was a fantastic idea. Thanks to those who opined as it's been great and I've played way more than I otherwise would have!
That said, my game is suddenly in utter shambles. I shot my best score a couple weeks ago, and this week was a full 23 shots over that. I have no idea what's going on. I can't hit a drive to save my life, can't hit my irons accurately. It's such a disaster. I spent an hour at the range yesterday and tried working through some things, which had zero impact. So frustrating.

What course did you get a membership from? Golf is like that one day I play well and one day I couldn't hit a lick. I stop caring why this happens and just come back the next day as a new person.
