Went out for a loop around Glenmore Reservoir this morning. It was my first time our there. More and more impressed with the path system in Calgary.

Strava sure is a battery hog. My iPhone 6s went from 95% battery to 6% when I got home after 2.5 hours. I might have to switch to a Garmin and sync otherwise I'll couldn't go out for much longer.

Something must be wrong I go for an hour with Strava and iTunes on and use 15% at most on my iPhone 5. Do you have sleep disabled?

I made sure the screen was off as well. I'll do another run tomorrow after I power off completely. Maybe I had something else running as well.

Went for a little spin around fish creek park, talk about frustrating as apparently groups for four are allowed to walk in a row across the entire path.

One lady got mad at me for not ringing my bell, I told her I was sorry for wrecking her families walk in thier own park and I let her I know I appreciated her letting me use their private pathway......

Did a loop around the Glenmore Reservoir this afternoon. Getting back into a regular exercise routine after having some abdominal surgery late last year.

Yeah, I checked the battery stats. I ran Google Maps before I left and was running in the background and did 15% of the damage. Instagram actually did 20% while running in the background which I was surprised by.

We'll see how she goes on tomorrow's ride.

Seems like there are more self-appointed bicycle police out these days. Last week I was stopped by a concerned pedestrian while waiting at a traffic light and given a lecture for filtering through a traffic jam.

I don't even ring for those people. I yell "MOVE".

^ do you follow up the "MOVE" with a get out da way?

This morning the wife and I rode from our house in new brighton to chestermere (~40kms) via the pathway...flawless morning to rack up some km's. Was also great because we did not have to share the path with anyone.

Ride is not as scenic as fish creek though

Did my first big ride of the year. Winsport to Bragg Creek and back. 74km.

Lunch at the Cinnamon Spoon is always good.

Going to attemp to go farther to Pridis and Black Diamond as I get my legs in shape.

below is a link to a picture of my 2013 RM Altitude 730 along with a list of my upgrades/investments (going from memory). I have tried to keep my upgrades to Race Face (RF) where possible only because I am a weenie that way:

•rf sixC carbon handlebar - 35 mm (made a bit of a mistake with this purchase as I got a flat bar and not a riser)
•rf lockon grips in blue
•RF Atlas stem (something short ~ 10 mm or so)
•Shimano SLX brakes, with ice tech discs and finned pads
•RF Atlas pedals
•RF respond cranks
•giant contact dropper post - 100 mm
•bontranger affinity saddle
•shimano xt rims and hubs
•tires are nobby nics - tubeless
•rf turbine front chainring - 2x set up 36t and 24 (I think)
•shimano xt rear cassette - with a wolftooth 42t gear
•shimno xt chain
•sram x9 long cage rear duerailler - replaced the pully wheels with cool KNC blue ones with blue bolts

only took a few tries, but finally was able to post a pic of my AM rig

unbeleiveable morning out there today...I rocked shorts and a long sleeve shirt, and while it was a little cool on the knees - especially as my commute takes me right along the bow river. there was no wind whatso ever and I posted my best time to the office in a while as I was 41 minutes from leaving my house in new brighton to my office across from Chinook ctr.

and to think I had planned on not riding today as I got some good mileage in over the weekend; however, with today's forecast of 21 (27 tomorrow) it was too hard to think of commuting in the tin coffin.....

Have you posted your path before? I come from Cranston almost to the exact same destination. Curious how ours differ.

I did some hills yesterday and my knee was barking last night, but the weather is too nice so I endured this morning.

However, I must be getting old because I find I am cold at any temp lower than 10C. Thus, I had pants and a skully on this morning.

Perhaps it is because I ride so fast.

The weather dude better be right this afternoon because he predicts strong south winds which means I can coast home.
