This... if you are good.

I hate protoss that cannon rush. So cheesy.
However, a buddy and I that fluked gold division after placements (we are not gold players, maybe silver at best but thats pushing it) tried cannon rushing and succeeded.
In and of itself that is not all that amazing. However, neither he nor I had ever played protoss before (both zerg), and both knew that if the game went over 6-7 minutes we were doomed. Pretty funny gamble. Skype was filled with:
"what the heck do I build now?"
"Forge, then cannons, only cannons."

Maybe, but I would say its probably way more likely to be a graphics driver issue or some specific issue that your graphics card has with SC2. Try updating your graphics drivers first, and if that doesn't work, maybe have a look at the Bnet tech support forums to see if anyone else with your type of graphics card is having the same trouble with SC2.

LOL! Has anyone done the mass phoenix harass before? I did it for the first time tonight and it was HILARIOUS! It was 2v2, and the guys just took out my expansion. I had pumped out a few voids to try and harass his mineral base, but they had vikings and their own voids to back that up. So after my VRs dropped, I decided to go with phoenixes. At first, I started with 6. Flew to the terran base, and just graviton beamed all his SCVs up and killed them mid-air. He tried sending vikings and VRs, but they fell pretty fast to my nixes.
So I spammed up a bigger nix army, then flew from base to base after that, lifting harvesters off the ground and killing them mid-air. Then the guy tried to mass stalker me. Big mistake. I graviton beamed in bunches, leaving them helpless as I killed them in mid-air. Did this for the entire hour-long game to keep their harvesters down. Toss player never pumped out his own nixes to counter me, just more stalkers. And the Terran player didn't clue in to put up a bunch of turrets until near the end. Eventually I starved them to death, and my partner built up a few BCs (literally a few... like 4) and finished them off lol. I'm still laughing at it now. HILARIOUS.

In before Torture (who loves Phoenix).
In 2v2 games together we've recently been very successful with him getting phoenix (and a smaller ground army) and I get a huge Terran bio ball (marine, marauder, medivac). It works really well because the biggest threat to a bio ball is siege tanks. So the phoenix lift them up and the army stomps over everything else.
We won 7/7 tonight, all against favored opponents.
Then Blaster86 jumped in to add Terran mech to the mix and we won 3 or 4 more.
Also, if a ground army moves in on your mineral line and the only thing that can get there quickly is Phoenix - you can lift the units and turrets are able to attack!
There is an awesome replay of TLO massing Phoenix with Husky or HD (can't remember which) in a 3v3. It's pretty ridiculous.

just had my first successful one against zerg. I boxed him in and starved him out of the game, then I just kept bringing voids until he was done.

Mmmm Phoenix's. Seriously one of the funnest units in the game, lifting up armies and making them helpless is just so awesome.
Like Flames0910 said, Phoenix/Chargelots/Terran Bio Ball is an awesome combination.
Phoenix's give you map control so that you're safe to expand while you harass. And they dominate the sky so you don't have to worry about mass Void Rays or Mutas.
Chargelots/Bio Ball can deal with any ground army especially if they don't have to worry about key units like Tanks, Immortals, Ghosts, Templars, Banelings...

^ course the key is good teamwork so that the chargelots are tanking for the weaker infantry and support units aren't wasted without the support of the large, more powerful infantry core.
being twins probably helps...

Alright team I am back and almost ready to get some games started. Haven't played starcraft in a few days so I'm pretty rusty right now.... give me 24-48 hours to practice up and then I'll be ready to play all of you in my pool. PM me or post in here to organize matches.
