Great night in the Football League 1. 1-0 to the Albion to go 7 points clear with 2 games in hand.
SEAGULLS!

Huge fixture coming up on Saturday, Bournemouth-Southampton.
Saints 3 pts back of 2nd place Bournemouth after a 3-0 win over Yeovil today.

I think that Southampton will get the 2nd automatic promotion spot behind Albion. I'm just not convinced that Bournemouth is for real this season. Southampton has the look, plus they are in a prime position with games in hand on the clubs they are chasing.

If I were the Saints, I would be more worried about Peterborough snatching 2nd place. They're hammering everybody they play at the moment, and scoring goals for fun.
Cherries-Saints currently 1-1 at half time.
It's been an awesome season for us, and to be in this position coming into the last 10 games is just astonishing, given that just over 2 years ago, we were bottom of the next league down and on our way out of the league.
And we have no money!

I dunno about Peterboro. They have scored goals by the boatload this season, but typically against weaker teams; Walsall, Hartlepool, Oldham, Swindon, Wednesday. The Saints have put 8 past them, so too has Charlton and Albion beat them 3-0 and 3-1. They would definitely be a team to avoid in the playoffs but I still think Soton, with games in hand are the team to 2nd (hopefully not 1st) place in FL1.

Lots of lovely possession from Arsenal but down 1-0.
This is a tired storyline no?

The game Saints played at Peterborough this year was 4-4 IIRC..
Huge win today after an early goal against.

It feels like Arsenal will never win a trophy.

Scholes played extra time like he wants next weekend off or something, practically begging for a red card

There's no way that you won't win the league this season - you're already 8 points clear with 2 games in hand. What a position.
Tough week for the Cherries - we were in 2nd place with a 5 point gap at the start of Tuesday night. Come the end of the week, we've dropped to 5th, we've lost 2 on the bounce, and we're starting to look over our shoulders at Leyton Orient, who are chasing with games in hand.
There's a chance that after being in the top 2 for a lot of the season, we won't make the playoffs at all...

If anyone one the top 6 misses out on the playoffs I'd bet it would be MK Dons. They still have Peterboro, Soton and Huddersfield to play and while they are on a decent run of form, I'm not convinced as to how good they are.
The Cherries have some tough matches ahead; away to Peterboro, Carlisle is never easy away either. But you get to play Bristol Rovers 2x, Tranmere, Yeovil, Notts County, Rochdale and a Hartlepool side that a few weeks ago were a few points above the drop zone. There are lots of points for the taking.
The Posh is a confusing side. They are hammering sides with 5-6 goal outbursts but have come completely unstuck against the top sides in League 1. They could beat up on enough poor sides to ride into promotion, but I don't see it.
Should be an interesting run-in.

As I understand its actually in the rule book as non-discretionary.
I must say, that is one thorough rule book.

Another wonderful day in the Football League. Albion consolidating their lead atop League 1. Swindon holding Huddersfield (thanks) and Bournemouth falling further back from the top 2. Sorry rich.
Some of the lads think that Peterboro, since the return of Fergie jr, will be the other side that wins automatic promotion. I still say Southampton, but 'Boro are the form team right now.

Haha, that's OK NBC.
Our first priority this season was to avoid relegation back to the bottom tier. Pre-season, 20th place would have been acceptable to us as a final position.
Since then, I've had to keep pinching myself on a weekly basis, as we kept up our pretty good run.
Everyone else's form over the past 3 or games 4 seems to have coincided with our worst run of the season. We just need to hang in there and finish 6th. Although we lost yesterday, Orient also lost at Brentford, so they've not gained anything on us there.
It's only football though, right? Having seen HalifaxDrunk's news, it's not really important in the grand scheme of things.
