Just some quick glancing at some statistics for July:

Average high: 22
Historical: 22.9

Precipitation (mm): 66.4
Historical: 67.9

I get what people are saying about there being a few more storms (and particularly, as mentioned earlier, there seem to be a LOT more watches and warnings that never materialize), but generally this is summer in Calgary.

I'd be curious to see a comparison of hours of sunshine.

^ That would be interesting. I can only find the normal values for July (314.9 total hours, 63.2% of possible daylight hours). Does anyone know where this info could be found for July 2010? I can't seem to locate it.

On the plus side, I don't remember the grass being green in August. It's a nice thing to see this time of year.

Go move to Vancouver you dirty hippy.

Round here, us real men like the grass nice and bone dry, keeping our crops ripe for the harvest. If the grass doesn't feel like straw, then its not hot enough.

Wow! What a dark sky passing over the west side of the city, going south and fast. No watches or warnings, I guess it looks worse then it really is.

It's as black as the Earl Of Hell's waistbelt (Alistair Maclean, "HMS Ulysses" reference) in south Calgary right now.

There haven't been any warnings or watches issued as of yet.
