I hate Druh Farrell more then ever. He low, whiny wispy voice and constant complains and posturing is driving me mad.

Well that's news to me. Apparently the Airport Authority is not interested in the tunnel? They don't find it advantageous to them? What?

No recess. They will finish tonight.
Ald. Mar has 10 amendments to put forth.

Its a good thing there is a Flames game on tonight so I am not justifying staying up late to hear the outcome of a City council meeting.

It shouldnt be that surprising. With no tunnel they can charge premium a on warehousing space. With a tunnel it opens a whole City of Calgary industrial sector for those warehouses. One of the forgotten aspects of the new runway is it also comes with a huge new cargo terminal.
Also the Airport doesnt really care about someones ease of access or what a crash on Deerfoot might do to commute times. Extra time means more revenue from cabs going to the airport. They are a retailer that offers a very unique product within the City. You have to go to them to get this specific product as they have no competitors.

There must be something in the report that they kept in camera? Otherwise why not let it come out publicly, and why bring about the levy after its discussion? Disappointing that we can't see that report though.
I like the levy though, and that should be enough to get it done I think.

That's unfortunate, since the people using the airport are who they should be serving.

For the overall tunnel motion, it looks like it shaping up as:
For - Nenshi, Stevenson, Jones, Pootmans, Carra, Chabot, Pincott, Keating, Demong
Against - Hodges, Lowe, Farrell, Mar, Colley-Urquhart
Not sure where McLeod stands on it yet.
