I haven't gone through the whole thread, but I'm popping in to give a shout out to grilled pork tenderloin. Pork tenderloin is cheap, low in fat, tender and you can find some kick ass marinades on the web.

This summer I want to get into smoking meats/seafood. Can anyone recommend a cheaper smoker and also any tips/recipes would be great.

I was cleaning out the photos on my phone and remembered that I hadn't posted the photos of the chicken and ribs we did a few weeks ago.

2x beer can chicken (1 can of coke, the other with a can of marinade from Barbeques Galore, apple bourbon flavoured) and 4 small racks of pork ribs.

Bump for the new barbecue season! Also requesting a move to the Food sub-forum.

Bought a brand new smoker this week and we'll be breaking it in this weekend with some pulled pork and chicken! Hoping the rain holds off on Sunday.

I'd like to add this spice mix. I've used it on my meats and it's freakin' delicious!!

Keeping it simple this year.

Rubbed some olive oil over a couple of beef tenderloins, sprinkled with some seasoning salt, let sit for about half an hour. grilled on high for 8 minutes each side.

I kid you not, one of the best steaks I have had in a long time. Found that combo just brought out the natural beef flavor.

Picked this up at Sobeys, don't own a smoke box so will be interesting to try out this weekend.

^ I haven't used one of those before (if its what I think it is), but you should be fine. Its not rocket science and using smoke doesn't really change how you cook entirely. My advice would be to cook with it indirectly though for best results.

Nonsense, I did beer can chicken last night, cajun blackened turkey breast on Wed. steaks on Tuesday, chicken breasts on Monday. Come to think of it, I don't remember the last time I cooked inside.

Can't wait for the weekend, I have a turkey breast sitting in a brine waiting to be smoked!

Yeah, last night we did burgers on the BBQ.

I must say those frozen "thick and juicy burgers" from Superstore were disgusting. They had a really nasty texture.

How do you set up the BBQ for doing the beer can chicken? Our BBQ came came with the beer can chicken holder, but I have yet to use it.
