He certainly has the talent to be a good closer but like way too many guys cannot throw his good stuff on a consistent basis.

Could be but so far he has had two great performances..... and zero soft balls

Looks like a beautiful night in Baltimore. Buck Martinez not in the booth tonight though? He's been such a nice change this season

Buck is doing some work for TBS this year as well. Cosentino will obviously fill in when Buck is away.

Well that sucks, because Cosentino has always been brutal But I'll take Martinez doing 75% of the games then Campbell doing 100%.
Another impressive start so far by Jays starting pitching. Bottom of the order with the only run

What a performance to get from your 5th pitcher in the rotation. Been fun watching the Jays so far but after what they did to us after last year's start, I'm not getting my hopes up too high.
And wow - what a play by Downs and Gonzalez!

The Jays have been getting some great mileage out of their starters.
Edit: and Lind is just a gem.

Another win to start the season and a great start by Eveland!
Wells' first game without a hit but he draws to walks. Molina and Lind both with big games.

Not the one...

I like that Cito isn't micro-managing the game Gibbons-style. His theory of "players play" does seem to work for support players.
That said, I'd like to see Ruiz get a start tomorrow.
Save for Frasor, second series win, Snider being intentionally walked twice, and an offense producing without Hill.

And Frasor deserves some credit for bouncing back after his BS.

How, or why, would a team intentionally walk Snider twice?
I don't care what the situation is getting the easy out has to be a better option than putting him on base for free. Doing it twice in a game is plain stupid.

Managers just love when you intentionally walk a guy to load the bases and then proceed to hit the next batter on the first pitch...friggen hilarious.

He also works for TBS, so he'll be missing some games.

Well the second IBB to Snyder was when there was a runner on second and the count was already 3-0. With Molina on deck and a righty on the mound it made sense to put on Snyder there rather than risk a WP and let the runner move to third. But credit to Molina for drilling the first pitch back up the middle.
Not bad though, 4 of the 5 starts were really good from the starters, and 3 of them went 7 innings with Tallet giving them 6 2/3rds. I thought they would be lucky to get 5 quality starts a month from the pitching staff. If they can get innings from the starters and use the likes of Downs, Gregg, and Frason to close out games they should win a few.

^That's what I said for my season prediction basically. The Jays have some very nice pitching depth which alone should win them a bunch of games. Once McGowan and possibly Litch come back the organization looks just fine for pitching for this year. Really good job in AA recognizing the way to defeat not having an ace is to have strong depth.

In my opinion Jays have a solid pitching staff, the issues will revolve around the hitters. The Jays just won't produce enough runs.

Nevermind, you are both right:

Television followers of the Blue Jays will notice a different voice in the TV booth for Saturday and Sunday’s games in Baltimore against the Orioles. Because of commitments he has with TBS, Rogers Sportsnet play-by-play man Buck Martinez will not be call the games. His spot will be filled by Sam Cosentino
