Well, a god awful performance by the back end cost us a win tonight. On a normal night, Jones stops five of those seven goals, and Seabrook was a disaster. I'm hanging both short handed goals against on his lazy coasting tonight, though the entire special teams group played easily their worst game of the year, and probably of the last two or three seasons at that.

Grrr. Always seems to be a Flames game on TV the same time a Hitmen game in on Shaw.

Boneheaded decision by the Flyers not to send him back after 9 games if he wasn't going to stick all year long.

Hitmen beat the Oil Kings tonight 6-2. Edmonton was right in the game until the 3rd period but the Hitmen really took over after about the 30 minute mark of the game or so. Postma has another 10 game point streak going.

Well, Edmonton was in this game until about the 14 minute mark of the first. Jung and some brutal officiating by Cowley and Thompson kept them looking better than they were until the third. Good rebound effort after the loss for Calgary.
Magic number for division is 2, for the conference is 12.
It's interesting watching Regina, Prince Albert and Edmonton all fumble their way into the playoffs. Three teams that really don't want that 8th playoff spot judging by their recent play.

I know some of you follow the WHL much closer than I do, so...I was asked last night if the Langkow that played for the Blades was any relation to Daymond.
Anyone?

I am pretty sure they are related.
I think they are cousins, if I remember correctly.

Hitmen beat up on the Tigers tonight 8-4. Bostjan Golicic had a hat trick, Kozun with 4 assists. Oh and 3 more goals from the Hitmen blue liners tonight.

5/9 on the powerplay, and the pk is coming around, a perfect 4/4.
About the only issue is that Jones gave up 4 goals again. He's really fallen off as of late.

Big matchup in the Spoke tonight. Giants and Chiefs. Spokane will be without Jared Cowen who is out for the season (knee). Giants are still missing Lance Bouma, who broke a bone in his hand fighting last week.
Lethbridge @ Seattle tonight on Shaw, wonder if the T-Birds will jump at one last chance to go after Kyle Beach? Also a chance to see what the new digs in Kent look like..

Hitmen beat the Broncos tonight 6-3. Michael Snider started instead of Jones tonight and after the first goal was solid. Bortis with a 4 point game and Sonne with 2 more goals but how about Paul Postma? He tied a franchise record with 19th goal of the season, tying him with Kenton Smith for most goals by a defenceman in one season. Also with the goal tonight he ran his point streak to 12 games, the most ever by a Hitmen defenceman.

Great game in Seattle tonight, T-Birds beat the 'Canes 7-4, but you gotta wonder what Kyle Beach was thinking gesturing to the crowd after his goal. Boychuk tried to stop it, and I'm guessing the entire T-Bird bench saw it. Fueled their comeback?

The comeback had a lot more to do with terrible play by the Canes defense, goaltending and poor reffing than anything.
Of course people will point to Beach as the reason but it wasn't as though Seattle played that well to earn the win out there.
This Canes team is so frustrating to watch. Can't stand seeing them throw another 2 points out the window.
Still could beat any team in the first round but I doubt that they have the consistency to do any more than that.

Please tell me the good people on Division and Sprague don't call it "the Spoke".

Whether or not Beach's antics fueled a comeback, I think it is more important that Boychuck tried to stop him. That is a fairly overt sign that even Beach's own teammates don't like his antics. That kind of division between teammates causes nothing but problems.
You can't blame the Hurricanes for acquiring him, however. Their season was going down the toilet anyway, it was a good risk to take. And who knows? Maybe someone will be able to slap some sense into him in time for the playoffs.

Also, though the WHL website hasn't updated it yet, the Hitmen have, I believe, finally clinched the division. The best Medicine Hat can do is 96 points, the same as Calgary has now. The Tigers can't catch us in wins, and we've won the season series.
If the playoffs started today, it would be Calgary - Edmonton. Wouldn't that be a fun four games.
