We were actually offered Marcie by a friend of mine just after Abby passed away but before Keeper did as well.
Too much, too soon.
We were going to wait into later Spring/early Summer but the opportunity with Ruby came up last week and, we thought, "in for a penny, in for a pound" and checked to see if Marcie was still available as well. She was.
What kind of camera do you use btw?
A Nikon D80 with a lot of miles on it now, even though it's only a few years old. It's probably not good enough for what I want to do going forward but changing its not a priority right now.
I found Abby and Keeper were something of little muses to me. After the passing of Keeper, there was a period of a full month where I didn't take a single frame of anything, something I hadn't realized until I went back and looked at the log on the camera. I like shooting animate objects, particularly one's you can't really control. It keeps you on your toes and makes you think. Dogs are very handy for that kind of thing.
I'm glad I opened this thread to some happy news.
We have three ten-year-old cats, so I might be back at some point . . . . but hopefully not for a long while with a dog.
More light amusement in a dark thread, we had these two scamps as house guests on the weekend, just before the arrival of Marcie. The yellow Lab is Willow and the Great Pyrenees monster is Otis, neighbour dogs we were watching.
A surprise attack:
and . . . . . WHUUUMMMPPPPHHHH!!!!
. . . and no harm done.
The Great Pyrenees and I will now go back to our normal relationship, me rearing back with a handful of gravel ready to throw at his head and him stopping his charge at my much smaller Golden's and running away.
