CNN has Michigan and Minnesota going to Kerry.
249-238 for Bush
Iowa wont come in until tomorrow due to fatigue and mechanical failures.

Coming fast and furious. Hawaii to Kerry.
249-242 Bush
No winner tonight. 3 states left (not including Ohio and Iowa) and not enough Electoral Votes left for either to get to 270.

3 more states will still be decided tonight...Wisconsin, Nevada, and New Mexico
I believe Bush is leading in Nevada, and NM.

Yep, looks like it's all done for tonight. A winner won't be decided until tommorrow at the earliest. Will all come down to Ohio really to see who will be in the White House for the next 4 years.
The media predicted Ohio would be like this did they not?

Bush leading by 120,000 votes in Ohio, with 97% polls reporting.
About 170,000 provisional votes (votes where people voted, but, not 100% sure if they are eligble voters, so are to be counted later) + some (under 10K) overseas votes.
Therefore, a lot of those provisional votes have to drastically change from the way Ohio's going so far.
Cnn just reporting that Democrats are in conference as to how much they push the provisional ballots, just for that above fact. So that they don't string this out too long....
Plus, the owner of the Red Sox has a plane ready, ready to launch a troop of lawyers around the country for Kerry (to chanllenge results where necessary).
Isn't buying one title enough, Boston?

it makes sense for the demos to discuss a plan because obviously not all the provisional votes will be for Kerry however many demos felt that Gore didn't push hard enough in the last election.

But, as I've told said friends many times, if you'd just pick a different word you wouldn't have this issue.
|
Would you like it if you and your wife had a civil uinion or a marriage?
Fact of the matter is the term marriage isn't a word that is used exclusively by the Catholic community it goes beyond that now, even if church goers can’t see it. The word marriage is used by people who don’t give a rats hide about god or the people who believe in him.

That's right, marriage is in the public domain now it's not the exslusive right of the bible belt. Why, even jews can marry christians or muslims, or buddhists, that's not something the bible condones, why not gay marriage. I go back to earlier comments, if gay marriage is against the law adultery should be too and all those other areas that aren't even questioned.
Anyway, Ohio not being counted until Thursday.

I can't answer a tough question like this for other people.
The word means something different to me, so my vote would go another way. I don't feel any ill will to someone that supports gay marriage, I was just giving you my opinion from my vantage point.
A person could name their wheelbarrow "Marriage" and it wouldn't effect my interpretation of the word.

Hey, fair enough and I understand that. I am just trying to understand Catholics stranglehold on the word marriage. Do you guys not realize that the word marriage isn't exclusive to the church community?
When I get married it isn't going to have anything to do with the church, and its like that for millions of others as well. Marriage is still very sacred to me, but it shouldn't be sacred for just straight people.

That's the thing though ... I'm not forcing anyone to define it in Catholic terms or to join me in my belief system. I'd never do that.
I'm saying this is how I feel. It's the same reason I told my wife from the beginning that divorce wasn't an option, and that any or all problems would need to be worked on.
It's not just paper work to me.

Fair enough man, I can respect that. I still just don't see the big uproar in keeping the word marriage so sacred, as long as the marriages are strong then I don't see why the Catholic community would be so up in arms about someone else getting married.
You have your beleif's, I have mine. Besides religion though I still haven't found one good reason why a homosexual couple shouldn't be married, and that is fustrating to hear.

I'm "catholic" and I don't understand it at all.. Whats the big deal... Its just a word, makes no sense to me.
If two men get married, how does that make the word marriage any less sacred to you. I'm sure there are religions, which the word marriage isn't very sacred, is anyone trying to stop those ones as well? I understand its an important idea to some of you and I respect that, but its not like its a word that belongs exclusively to one religion, person or group of people.
I've seen pet weddings on t.v. (how stupid can you be by the way), and I don't see anyone up in arms over those.. :P
