8 games left in the regular season after tonight (2 games each weekend in February).
After that, they'll play in the ECAC Tournament, which could be up to 5 games. Then, they'll likely qualify for the National Tournament, which is a maximum of 4 games if they go all the way to the Frozen Four Final.

Minnesota-Duluth is shut out. Zero points for Plante.
Wyttenbach officially leads the entire NCAA with 41 points in 28 games.

Wyttenbach might not stylistically be like him, but man, this sure feels like déjà vu almost 15 years after drafting Johnny.
Kid’s got game.

HYPED to see that Wytter had another huge night and catapulted himself into the NCAA scoring lead! We just might have a player here.
And on Daily Faceoff he was already being tabbed the most improved NHL prospect prior to this weekend.

Definitely exceeding the wildest expectations! Hope he can keep up a high level of play his whole career. Gonna need a highlights video from this season!

Hard to believe that was 15 years ago. Wow.
So, when do we start the contract hand wringing?

The guy tore up January, 16 points in 10 games and didn't reach the scoreboard in only one of those games.

I don’t think we do any hand wringing. IIRC, he was stoked to be drafted by the Flames. I’m pretty sure he trains with Coronato in Long Island

Excluding Parekh, not sure how Wyttenbsch isn’t our best prospect. It’s a historic season currently

By points-per-game, Wyttenbach's 1.46 ranks as #60 all-time in the NCAA by a player 18-and-under.
In the last 35 years, Wyttenbach's 1.46 ppg is tied for 16th-best all-time by a player 18-and-under.

Wyttenbach is an interesting prospect, but recognize he plays in the ECAC Hockey conference, which is filled with some pretty weak competition. Might be a guy that uses the transfer portal to get into a conference that is more competitive and better for his development?

Good find. Lets keep him developing. Will be interesting to see how he transitions to the Pro game. Kudos to the scouts and the player for getting us here. I like the flames drafting and development in the last few years. I think we are starting to see it slowly. It might take close to 5 or 6 years before we see the results at the pro level.

No idea if he users the transfer portal this year but Quinnipiac is a top program, currently ranked sixth in Division I hockey, they been a strong team for over a decade now winning the national title in three years ago in 2023. ECAC isn't the top conference but it's far from the lowest. They hold victories over Hockey East teams Boston College, Maine, New Hampshire and Boston University this year.
It seems to be a fine well regarded program at the moment and Ethan Wyttenbach is the leading his team with 41 points, 11 point ahead of the guy behind him. I don't know if a "...just saying" is appropriate here.

4 freshman how won the hobey baker. Karyia, Eichel, Fantilli, and Cellebrini.
All four did that in their draft year, although if he ends up leading in points it won't be so easy to dismiss.
