Beyond the selection, utilization is going to be a problem as well. How much is Cooper going to favour his Tampa guys instead of constantly rolling Crosby/Celebrini/McDavid over the boards?

Cirelli sucks and he sucked last year at the 4 Nations. Completely out of his depth. #### Tampa as always

I get the "gamer" arguments for Bennett, but at the moment there are a lot of Canadian forwards having much better years than him that aren't on the team.

Zaumner was tied for second in team goal scoring and had more goals than Gretzky that tournament.

People were clamouring for the Oilers reunion tour with Messier instead but I really don’t think Messier at that stage of his career would’ve done anything on whatever line he was on (3rd or 4th) offensively, which is where Canada suffered that tournament.

Corson was probably the more useless pick than Zaumner given the ice size.

But again, Canada’s success wasn’t tied to the 10-12th forwards, they needed more from Sakic Fleury and Rechhi, and it of course came down to a semi final shootout anyways.

Johnston, Bennett, Dobson all should have made it over Cirelli, Hagel, Parayko but the management team was always going to err on the side of their own players when it came down to it.

Doughty really sticks out to me above all of the others. The forward misgivings to me are well document.

At the end of the day anyone can argue with me until they are blue in the face, but what Canada should be doing at a tournament like this is taking that 8 fastest defense from the group available, playing best on best a teams speed transition up and speed getting back it the most important thing in the game. And 4 first line forward units, then rolling them at 15 minutes /game each. Any other choice is irresponsible.

When asked the question would your rather have the Mcdavid, Mckinnon, Crosby Celebrini line on the ice, the correct response is I don't care. Who's starting this PP, I don't care, whos on in the last minute of a tight game (maybe I care a little bit, the best faceoff guy)....

Canada should be turning this tournament into a track meet, and letting teams that look at a lot closer to good NHL team than All Star teams get warn out.

In terms of the Tampa guys...

Point was one of the original 6 and deserved that spot. He's having a rough season this year but still deserves that spot.

Hagel is good. Quick, gritty, defensively responsible, still producing this year, he deserves that spot.

Cirelli is the questionable one based on his performance, but the coach trusts him and he's responsible defensively.

Cirelli and Horvat are the two biggest question marks on the roster IMO, especially since I feel like both play a similar role.

Cirelli over Bedard was a weird choice.

I'm just glad Bouchard won't be there coughing up pucks and gifting goals against.

Bedard won't be in stride for a tournament like that. I agree there were better choices than Cirelli though.

Then don't support the team. I don't because of McDavid. Probably not popular opinion but it is what it is.

Bennett's slow start this year hurt him. He's been point/game for the last month or so but had a rough start.

I still would have taken him.

Thats all, but leads the way for team Canada. Least calgary produces top talent here. To a surprise Quebec has no representatives.
