Meant to suggest everything historically, under this ownership regime. Some of the baggage I have as a fan is jaded by what we've seen for the past 20+ years. And some skepticism is warranted, IMO.
In fairness to Conroy, his actions have been consistent with his message. Get younger, move expiring contracts, give younger players in the organization more opportunities to contribute.
I think where my doubts and skepticism creep in is 1) the organization's track record, 2) the rumored involvement at the deadline in Carlo and Rantanen for futures-heavy packages, and 3) the general sentiment from the media pundits of the Flames' appetite to add at the deadline and be players this off-season.
Conroy shouldn't be scrutinized for acquisitions or signings he never made, but again, skeptic in me says these are just further examples of more of the same from this ownership group. We shall find out as early as this off-season, I guess.

Hanifin was a 26 year old dman, who you could expect to play 8 more years, into the Flames window assuming they are rebuilding. So a re-signing would have been fine.
Lindholm signing - less so, but if he signs, they maybe don't extend Backlund and Lindholm becomes the veteran shutdown centre, except younger. Going forward, the money he ended up taking wouldn't have broken Calgary either.

This organization is so frustrating sometimes.

So replace Wolf with almost any goalie and the Flames are 40 points worse lol
Sharks have 51 points guy...Wolf is good but this is why I cant take you seriously ever 40 points!

Frost and Farabee were supposed to be the boost the Flames needed to solidify a playoff spot. That hasn't materialized, in fact, both have regressed even more with the Flames. Both better come to camp next season ready to battle, because they haven't lived up to any expectations thus far.

The 10th place team went on a 12 game win streak and that will probably keep them out by 2-4 points. Its unfortunate, they have played well...stayed past Vancouver. Almost tracked down WC1.

Yeah, I have to agree with that. They certainly tried, and it wasn't from a lack of effort, but they didn't contribute a lot in production.
However, I can understand how jarring it would be to be traded mid-season, especially to a very distant place and away from a team where you were drafted and spent all your professional life. I can see why there might be an adjustment period before we see their best, but I'm willing to wait and see a little more than most players because of their age, skills, pedigree, and prior production.

And I’d argue past successes aren’t as important as current results (they were very good trades). Sports tend to be cut throat and skew towards favouring recency. Hell in the NBA a coach was fired even after getting their team to the playoffs this year and winning the championship in 2023 (yes yes different sports but the point is still valid).

But it didn't happen. So how long do we have to continue to talk about it? Maybe Conroy learned from that whole experience just as he did in seeing Johnny walk for nothing.
I will judge him on actual things not things that didn't happen.

Hmm that's true, 40 points is a lot. I would put it closer towards 25 points.
But then again, he is part of the team. Winnipeg gets a lot of games stolen as well. I think the Sharks are the inverse where their goalie often single handedly loses them games.

Yeah, people really can’t reconcile that Conroy set up the team up to be a bottom ten team and they simply outperformed expectations. This wasn’t the plan.
If Conroy goes and signs a bunch of middling UFAs to long term contracts then that is a different story.

But the ownership ok'd the Markstrom trade, the heading into the season with the worst defense core on paper, and sitting on $20M in cap space.
Clearly Edwards thinks differently now.
We can't blame ownership and not GMs for the past, but then credit Conroy and not Edwards for the change this season.

You really think Wolf has gained this team 25 points over an average NHL starter? He should get the Vezina, Hart, and ROTY I guess.

Does Edwards think different now? We will see this summer, can't give a snake like him any credit until we see something different.
Just with the cap savings, he is pocketing the savings along with all those expansion fees. Needed a free arena

No one buys a sports team to make money. But he will be making money after the new free arena opens. Just from parking alone.
