Lightening in a bottle usually doesn’t happen twice. I expect Latvia will get steam rolled by the Americans

According to an official announcement, 17 year old defenseman Matthew Schaefer has been ruled out of the remaining games at the tournament following a rather violent collision with the goal post. Schaefer was clearly shaken up on the play but the fact that he will miss the remainder of the tournament will be a huge blow to the Canadian squad

Some idiot in the comments saying it’s a 4 week injury.

2-3 months is huge. Could impact his draft stock as well.

Hahah, I broke my collar bone in March and it didn't feel normal until July. I can't imagine trying to rush it.
4 weeks is pretty funny.

Team USA also knows who their best players are and bothered to show up with them.

Vanbiesbrouck, the Bill Peters of US hockey in their GM. First time he has worked in hockey in 22 years.

Still better at constructing a roster than Team Canada's braintrust.

Watching this Latvia / USA game and it’s remarkable how much more the Americans play as a team. Turns out passing and supporting each other works well.

Team USA is downright scary, both on paper and on the ice.

I wouldn't be surprised Canada also get steam roll by the Americans based on how they played last night.

5-1 pretty good showing by Latvia. They are big.

2nd game for Latvia in less than 24 hours. USA off since Thursday. Terrific effort for the Latvians.

You can take him out, bump terik up to 2nd line and throw Bashar in as extra forward and probably come out ahead forward wise.

Vanbiesbrouck was the one who was fired from his position as coach and GM of the Sault Ste. Marie Greyhounds for using a racial slur against Trevor Daley.

Just thought I would post a reminder....
