Youngsters? Take notes.
I don’t want to trade him at all, same goes with Kadri really for that matter. Great leaders to move forward with the youth movement, Weegar as well.

We've had GMs be buyers when 7 points out of a playoff spot in the past. Not sure what there isn't to understand?

Based on what I've seen, ever since Bieksa moved into a panel role, he's been balanced the majority of the time, not going overboard on any topic really, so it's not such a surprise that he was the voice of reason again. Agree to disagree, I guess.

That we pummelled those losers in the late game on the national, er regional, HNIC Saturday night broadcast made it all the more satisfying.

Also...Lets not gloss over McDavid's absolutely stellar, text-book defensive backchecking work on Kadri's opening goal.

That was some beautiful stuff. They need to teach that to kids. Well...just Edmontonian kids...

Really, the most important part is the 'Thousand-Yard Stare' in the corner while your opponents are celebrating.

"Lets go..."

What needs to be done at the deadline is getting something for Hanifin and Tanev. It's highly doubtful that Conroy decides to let them walk to try and make the playoffs.

If he makes any buyer moves it won't be for rentals. Maybe if he can get someone for super cheap that won't hurt his plan he might consider it but I doubt that will happen.

They couldnt score 5 over the course of all 3 periods. You're an idiot. There's the door. You're an idiot and you're fired.

Bye Elliott. The door will hit you.

They were notified in advance that this wasn't an 'Oilers dicksucking' competition right?

The only one not slobbering over the Oilers was Bieksa.

The rest of them should be fired. Hell. You could probably hire 4 or 5 actual decent journalists for the cost of a Friedman or McClean.
I doubt they even pay Elliotte very much (or Bieksa or Botteril). The thing is - almost anyone who knows their stuff is making too much or made too much money in their career already to bother sitting in every week. The people they can get are journos like Friedman trying to get exposure, relative newbies like Botteril trying to get into broadcasting or guys who like the limelight, like I suspect Bieksa does. Guys like Iginla etc are rich enough to only involve themselves when and where they want.

I think this year and the 16 game streak in particular made the HNIC panel very complacent in their presentation.

They must've got to the point after enough wins in a row where they just expected the oilers to run over every team for the remainder of the season and deemed it safe to let their oiler fandom run full boar. But now that the oilers have reverted to their no goodness they're having difficulty running any other script than unhinged oiler praise.

That was on full display last night despite the game reflecting pretty badly on the home team.. pretty embarrassing to listen to.

It would be nice to hear some talk about the flames young players who are excelling here rather than just the hot button topic of trade chips and otherwise excusing/praising the opposition.

Heck, Kylington who has a three game point streak would've made for a nice discussion that was forced or made up unlike what they ended up going with.

I wish TSN landed the Flames rights a couple years back.. too bad.

Yeah I'm sick of the hot trash that is Ron and Elliot. Frankly the Fan should have nothing to do with him with his ridiculous takes and why do the Flames make themselves available for them. They are actively cheering against them.

Finished watching the game. Really solid effort by the boys. Coleman, Huberdeau, Weegar, Hanifin, Kadri, Zary, Pospisil and Vladar were all excellent. 3 points back, keep it rolling!

For all the hate Huberdeau gets. He cares. You never saw Johnny engaged like that vs the Oilers.

Still the worst contract in Flames history and one of the worst in the NHL. Fans getting tickled pink because he stirs it up for a second after the whistle is such a reach. He's mailed it in since he landed in Calgary.

Conroy came in with a plan though to not lose assets for nothing. He never came in with a plan to make the playoffs. Flames owners signed off on that plan. Problem with previous GM’s is they told the owners the plan was to make the playoffs and the owners signed off on that plan. I see no more reason for Conroy to deviate from his plan than there was for previous owners to deviate from their plans.
