Look at the then unknown sec being hit down for claiming it was a terrible deal right away. It handcuffs the franchise for ages. If you complained back then you should have every right to rub it in how bad it is now. To think they dealt a 1st to rid themselves of Monahan just to be strapped to Kadri. I’ll keep blabbing because so many shot the notion down as being a Debbie downer when it was fairly obvious it was bound to fail. Only it failed beyond expectations.
People have every right to complain, but an obligation?!? I’m not even sold on Kadri myself at this point. However, with all of the issues up and down the whole team last year, calling his acquisition a failure seems pretty dang pessimistic and premature at this point. Players having a down year and then bouncing back after never happens I guess? You don’t think there’s any chance a coaching change might make a difference going forward?

Even if Kadri does remain “a failure” in the remaining 86% of his contract, there’s no GM or person on this board that gets every player personnel decision correct. I don’t understand why it seems to burn someone’s arse so badly being in the minority side of a pool of opinions that they can’t wait to unload rants about it if and when the feel they end up being correct.

I suppose every single thing you predicted last off-season ended up coming true? Did you have any positive-leaning predictions for this past season?

Obligation probably not the word but, “right” probably suits best. On your big trades or signings they have to get it right. Management should never get a free pass on those franchise altering moves. While we can’t determine it to be a failure outright as there is plenty of term left the facts were he was coming off a cup at a career high, wanted a long term contract to sign here, got it, with a high price tag into his aging years, and had to deal a first to make it happen. Flames were under no obligation to be that generous and give up that much. On this board when fans chimed in that age should play a factor and it was too much they were shot down. That’s wrong and that should be brought up now, because the cards were stacked against them given his age. Plus they gave up a first. It was destined to be bad on the back half. But from a fan perspective people posting in the minority shouldn’t be shot down is what I’m saying.
