Yes, because players have all the time in the world to think about what their coach wants them to do. Forget about the other 5 guys in different jerseys who are chasing and pressuring said puck carrier down like a dog on a bone. There's no time to think out there man, it's a small ice surface, so you have to rely more on your instincts.
Plus, Huberdeau doesn't even excel with carrying the puck on his stick and pushing the pace. It's probably the same reason we haven't seen much end to end rushes from him or why he's not the bump back guy on the PP. It was the same thing in Florida from the games I saw. It was Barkov instead and Kadri now with the Flames.
Lastly, even if you are right. That would only explain one aspect of his struggles (scoring on the rush). What about every other aspect of the offensive game? Does he dump and chase when he's already behind the net?
