The last time they sold at the deadline was when Brad was in his first year as GM (also their most successful playoff run by winning percentage in the BT era). Maybe they should sell to spark a playoff run.

There is no way this team sells at the deadline. I bet they won’t do anything or buy

Detroit's the same team as us. One is 25-28, the other is 25-29.

Wait until we are mathematically eliminated from the playoffs. Then watch these idiots pull off their first 4 or 5 game winning streak so we finish a terrific 9th place in the west.

If they can't hem a tired team in in the third and have a monster period then forget about it .. seasons toast. They can't afford more games without a W

That last goal was basically unstoppable, but sometimes your the goalie needs to stop a shot.
Second best goalie again with a .800 sv%.

I think the only move that would jolt the roster into better form is a coaching change

If ownership won't go for that, then sell
There's zero chance ownership will give the green light to start selling off when they are tied for the last playoff spot. Even just two home playoff games is a lot of cash.

And I kind of hate them for it lol.

It's just killer to clearly not be good enough and yet, against all logic or reason, still be perched on a playoff berth

Put us out of our misery!

Why is an ex Oiler doing intermission commentary for the Flames?

Didn’t they also sell Hudler and someone else at a subsequent deadline?

Only chance at playoffs this year is to punt Sutter. He's shown he won't adapt, and will continue to beat the same damn drum all the way to missing the playoffs.

Perfect example. Dube scores a goal to tie the game at 2. Sutter immediately puts out his 4th line and 3rd pairing who then almost get scored on. Momentum stalled. There is no effing reason to lie e up your worst players at centre ice there. It's beyond dumb.

Same as the last game, he way overplayed the 4th line in the third period and just let the momentum build up against the Flames.

Can't wait to say goodbye to dump and chase, 4th line worship from Sutter.

Flames are exactly where they deserve to be in the standings, because this is who they are. They'll most likely be fighting for the last spot until the final day of the season. So enjoy the roller coaster.

Might be worth blending the lines in the third to see if you can get a spark. Not a lot of that from Sutter this year though.

They sold in 2015 when they were in a playoff spot.

If I was looking at adding something to the team in the near future it would be bringing in players that play with a chip on their shoulder. Wake the rest of the team up. Just a 'blah' team this season.
Wasn’t that what Kadri was supposed to be.

Gazdic is great. Plus, he was also a Stockton Heat player as well. Tough guy for sure.

That was early years of the rebuild. In fact, making playoffs that year may have messed it up since it rushed the timeline, and made Flames buyers when they shouldn't have been, and retain their development assets.
