Powerplay Quarterback

Well, it's 2-2. Looked like the Flames were gonna get stomped, so I'll take it.
Officiating not a real strong point. Flames too rough, Leafs too divey.

It just balanced the pairing better.
Hanifin - Andersson
Zadarov - Weegar
Gilbert - Tanev
I really hope we get to see
Hanifin - Andersson
Zadarov - Weegar
Kylington - Tanev
at some point this year. That’s a great 1-6.

Ruzicka–Backlund–Phillips was the only Flames line to finish above water in terms of shots, chances, and expected goals in the first. Not a huge sample, but decent early signs.

It's a script we see all to often, refs will call penalties on the Leafs only if they get up a few goals, otherwise they swallow the whistle in a close game.

Yeah I didn't dislike Gilbert either. Would like to see Meloche maybe as well

if the Leafs games are reffed like this most nights then it sure as hell makes it easier
+26 penalty differential after that period, if the chart I'm looking at is right
what a joke, these guys a big league divers
it's an embarrassment to hockey

I just don't like Toffoli and Huberdeau on the same line
swap toffoli and dube or something if the bottom sox is fixed

Another thing I hate about today’s NHL. When 8 players are scrumming along the boards with puck frozen BLOW THE ####ING WHISTLE and have a face off. There is nothing so boring as to watch board scrums while listening to the damn ref hollering move it!!

Agreed. They need someone who can be up ice and push back the D so Huberdeau and Lindholm can be late. As is it’s 3 cerebral opportunists. Someone’s gotta inject a little chaos.

Phillips is doing so well despite being thrown right in to the deep water against the Leafs. Doesn't panic and reads the game well

I thought Phillips made a few nice plays and showed that he wasn't afraid to get to the front of the net for a possible deflection.
Hopefully the special teams play is a little less prevalent in the next two periods so he can get in more of a rhythm. We need to see what we have in him.

Lol. Shutup Bieksa. I wouldnt put it past the group of diving whiners to do that. And now Botteril is all fired up haha. Like come on. Canucks lost and rioted. One of the biggest bunch of dbags ever assembled. So of course they did that.

I believe Chara 100%. That 2011 'Nucks team were some of the biggest scumbags in NHL history.

This is embarrassing for CBC. Maybe it happened maybe not who cares, Canucks in that series were extremely arrogant either way.
