I should say instead… heavily biased officials/ league against Calgary. That’s probably more accurate. I don’t know how people watch this team over the last year come to different conclusions, to be honest. It’s game after game and it’s clear obfuscation of the rules to slant it in a direction the large majority of cases against the Flames.
|
When every fan base in this league have fans who believe the league is out to get them, thats how i know the league doesnt have a bias officiating problem. People see what they want to see and when you’re looking for a scapegoat, its easy to point the finger at the ref.
I do believe the officiating can be pretty bad and could use an overhaul, but i dont believe for a second, theres some league directive against calgary or any team.
Sometimes there are crappy calls. Soemtimes you beenfit from them, sometimes you dont. Tonight and saturday, there were big calls that went against Calgary. It happens. And it will happen again just like it will happen to every other team.

yeah like people have said...Sutter complained about the refs last game and they took retribution. Sutter has to be careful, we don't

We have the skill you just don't notice it because they are usually on the bench watching Rooney Lucic and Ritchie chasing the puck in the defensive zone.

Just finished watching on the PVR. Not the third period I was hoping for or expecting. Brutal way to give that game away after such a strong first. This team is really missing a winger and the defense could get healthy again.

A few dumb mistakes a game are killing the Flames right now. They can’t score their way out of it.

Yea that is true this team seems to be making a lot more mistakes and brain farts than last years group. I really hope this is just adjusting to new players in key positions

Last years team wasn't lights out at the start of the season either though...they were pretty average until that 10 games homestand after their covid shut down
17-17 in January give minus the OTLs

Huberdeau showed some subtle genius tonight. Props to Kelly Hrudy for calling out officials on the non call on Markstrom (probably doesn’t happen if not against a goalie). Hope is the amount of talent on this team underperforming. Not ready to spiral out just yet.

Such a balancing force. He never digs on them too hard after an emotional loss. Always digs when at the top.
Great coach

I think its about time we acknowledge that we suck ass at 3-on-3.
You'd think we wouldnt, but we do.
We should be killing OT to get us to the shootout. Its time to institute some realistic Game Management.

Both games now we carried play in OT until the refs decide to get their whistle out for something they weren’t calling in the third.
So we suck ass at 4-3 PKs would be more valid.

Watching that OT penalty call again and that was a brutal call in OT.
Not taking away a chance, barely touches him, was just off balance since he tried to lean into Andersson to box him out.
Just a terrible call that 100% didn’t need to be called after what had already been let go in this game.

Gaskal is going to be rusty if we ever win again.

It's probably not team-to-team bias. It's ahead vs. behind bias. And the Flames have been ahead a lot.
