So much for their 'due diligence'.

I think the only thing that convinced them to sign him was his point total.

What a mess, such an unforced error.

Do you think that is what happened here?

These guys don’t believe in personal accountability, it’s everyone else who is wrong. The victim, the victim’s family, people close to the situation, people in the hockey world, Special Hockey USA, the Carnegie Initiative, the Bruins’ players, and now the Bruins management… it’s all just the internet mob taking another victim, see. Couldn’t possibly be Miller’s fault. Never is their fault.
Don't try and speak for me, you and your other cyber bully friends can go pound sand. The nerve of someone who constantly bullies other posters on a message board to mention personal accountability. What a joke.

Hmm, they were retweets by Akim Aliu that I guess he deleted.

One was this though:
https://twitter.com/user/status/1589355774555611136

Can't remember who Tweeted the other though, but it was similar to this one:

I think the message you were going for is “sorry, I was wrong.”

I already spoke for you and said “it’s everybody else who is wrong.” Repeating that just seems like a waste of your time, honestly.

The reason I know I’m not an actual bully is because if I was, you’d go around defending me every chance you got. Until that happens I’m good, thanks.

Neely is going to speak tomorrow morning about this. Is he taking questions or just reading some lame excuse off a piece of paper of why he shouldn't be fired already?

Actually there was no message because I had not even seen what had transpired before you started running your mouth. If Mitchell lied about things that does cast him in a bad light, information we nor the Bruins had before. So if he had been telling the truth and the facts were different would you have backed off? If course you wouldn't, you would just change the facts to fit your narrative. Oh, and you are definitely a bully, just go look at the constant condescending agressive bs you post. Christ, it is evident in this thread.

One small positive from this debacle is that the Bruin players stood up for what’s right.

I can’t imagine the damage that 6 years of bullying does on a kid’s sense of self worth. Especially when the kid is developmentally disabled. Just brutal.

I remember being a kid and saying some stupid things (nothing like what Miller did) - if I had the opportunity presented to me today to make amends, I would do it in an instant.

That still doesn’t sound like “sorry, I was wrong” but I accept your apology personally.

The real question is: Who sticks their neck out that far for a long-shot like this? And why?

If you strip away all of the character stuff, just for a moment ignore it, and this guy had what? Single digit chances of making the show?

If thats the case then when considering the character issues...why bother?

Its just so bizarre.

Well, knowing what I know now, I don’t think this guy should have an opportunity to play in the NHL. With the new information, I think he probably won’t get another chance.

I do think that if he had taken all the correct steps to make amends and proper apologies, then I could have gotten past what he did at 14 years old.

I mean, we as Canadians elected a guy who did some pretty disgusting things, one of the latest when he was like 30. Not apples to apples, I know. And I don’t want to turn this political, but we are talking about things done at 14 years old and things done at 30 years old. Quite a difference there.

Quite a difference because the things they did aren't even in the same universe.

Agreed. I guess what I was trying to say is people can forgive, if they feel the person has served their debt to society, or properly apologized.

With the additional information coming to light, I agree Miller shouldn't be in the NHL or anywhere near an NHL organization. The stories told by his agent and coaches don't check out. If they had, it would be another matter.

But a lot of you jumped to that conclusion from the start, without that information, and were saying things like ‘he belongs in prison’ or ‘one strike, you're out’. That attitude is toxic and ruins lives.

I should be amazed by the number of people that have been personally attacking me for saying it's wrong to rush to judgement, but I'm not. People who rush to judgement on one issue will tend to do the same on others.

Neither are the jobs they were applying for. Don't you think the Prime Minister of a country should be held to a higher standard than a hockey player?
