I wouldn’t call it random when it’s happened a fair bit lately.

Pretty dominant other than the goal, which shouldn't have gone in

Chicago not exactly playing sound defensive hockey at the moment, extremely lucky to be in the game.
You’re saying they’re going to play even looser? Sweet, Flames win by 4.

Excellent period other than the stinker from Markstrom. Keep playing the same way and they've got this. Just need to get at least one more past Lankinen.

Fwiw I liked the old home jerseys as well. Not necessarily better - like both silks.

Oh come on now, that was some light, light teasing. You know you're in the minority with your opinion on the jerseys, you are gonna get some grief over it.

I think the Flames are playing better today than they did against Arizona. Lankinen is actually tending goal properly.

People are being dramatic because the team is playing him way too much.
Load management is a thing, especially with today's reliance on reverse VH. It's murder on goalies.
Name a bonafide #1 in the past 10 years that hasn't had horrible injury problems. Maybe Vasilevsky?

If Markstrom didn't play tonight he would play tomorrow anyway...that goal didn't go in because Markstrom was tired, maybe bored.
Pretty unfortunate bounce off the post too

I will trust this coaching staff to manage his load, not even a little concerned.

With goalies it is always something, it seems. Play them too much, and it "wears them out", play them too little and "too much rust", split the load, and it's "can't get a rhythm".
Just to point out that I am an old bastard...the first goalie I ever saw play was a Champion that played 502 consecutive complete games! You can't tell me that with modern conditioning/nutrition/equipment and management, that they can't make them like Glenn Hall anymore!

I dunno......obviously the one tonight was terrible, but participating in these GTs quite often I'll see a goal where he was obviously screened, or a great tip in front, and posters will be asking why he didn't stop it. I'm not saying he doesn't let the odd stinker in because he does, but I think some here may be a bit biased if they post in GTs where the guy takes way too much blame for goals that aren't his fault.

He's literally top 5 in the league in all categories.
I think we need some perspective here.
If it was actually a regular thing this would not be the case.
And both of those recent pulls were to fire up the team, and were on the team. Not Markstrom.
Maybe he is fatigued but thats not something we should grill him for.
Just means its time to let him sit for a couple straight.
There's really no reason to make this a bigger deal than it is

This story about Gina is plucking at the heartstrings.
Equating defensive awareness with survival instincts in the Congo. #### me.

The goal tonight was because he was bored. Chicago had 10 shots all game. It would be brutal standing there with no action. He will be fine for the playoffs
