Ah classic. A Yankee stadium cheapie. Thought Teo might be able to get a glove on it. Someone should tell Yusei that the idea isn't to give up constant line drives to the outfield.

What's the record for pitches in a complete game?

Nice to give the Yankee a free run like that.

I think it's something in the 300s, 100+ years ago.

Espinal looks like he belongs; I don't see how Biggio gets in other than just a change of pace occasionally.

Biggio looks like he's lost confidence after his two buddies (Vlad and Bo) moved far ahead of him after getting injured. He has a lot of potential but I could see his struggles. If he's becomes an anchor in the lineup you probably have to move on from him, but he would probably flourish in a team that could be patient with him.

Horrible luck for Espinal. Ducks out of the way of a pitch and it's hits his bat for a foul ball. Then strikes out on the next pitch. A little bit of luck and the Jays have 2 on with 1 out.

Yeah, he helplessly halfass swung at it. I think he was shaken on the near HBP.

Imagine the fear in the yankees pitchers hearts knowing Zack Collins is coming in to pinch hit....

I don't want to start harping on Montoyo already but there has been far too much Heineman, Collins and Tapia so far this season.

Clearly the bench is still not very good.

The pinch hitters, no. I don't fully get why the commentators are raving about the Jays catcher depth, and more specifically Kirk. The guy isn't big enough to be playing daily, or fast enough to play any position. I could see him being a backup DH or backup catcher but he'd be a guy I'd sell high on to get a solid bat back.

Gotta string a few together! Not a ton of good at bats, Yankee pitchers have kept them off balance all game.

Well when Gabe Moreno (hitting .400 right now in his first taste of AAA) eventually gets up to the big league club, DJ is no longer injured and Biggio remembers how to hit a baseball the bench looks a lot more palatable.

You don't get why Sportsnet commentators, the channel owned by the the same conglomerate as the blue jays, is raving about players on the Blue Jays? At worst, it's because they're literally just pushing out propaganda, at best it's because they're hyping up a guy that the team is trying to move.

Kirk was always going to be the center of a JRam deal. He's still the likely guy on the way out when the time comes to make a move to improve. Jano is better defensively and can still hit (despite what the start of last year made many think) so he's not going. None of this matters though as they are all just keeping the spot warm for Moreno.

What I don't understand is how they couldn't trot Kirk out two days in a row. It's early in the season, does he really need that much rest?

Re: Kirk. When you put it that way I guess I shouldn’t be surprised but even outside the organization a few publications I’ve read at the start of the year have pointed it out. Certainly seems like they are all in line in thinking he’s got a high ceiling. Which is something I don’t see. Bat, I’m not sure but physically he’s extremely limited. Agreed on Moreno. I tend to think Jano as the backup would be really good for everyone.

Yeah, I thought that was odd.
