Now you’re taking my made up statements as literal. I’m saying how he got his information and the way it was presented makes a difference in how he may handle the situation. I’m sure everyone in the peanut gallery thinks he got the explicit version and he dismissed it out of being a dick. But there is a possibility that the messengers provided a water downed version, and in the midst of the playoffs he chalked it to leaving till later. There are other possibilities we’ll never get to dig deep into because so much time has passed and what exactly was said has faded with memory.

No, I’m taking the example you appeared to present as the “not too bad” story.

There is no watered down version that I can imagine that works.

The report is pretty clear that statements varied widely and sometimes contradicted each other...it's a bit silly to cite any single statement as any kind of smoking gun here.

You probably don't shower with most of your colleagues at the end of your work day.

Pro sports is a pretty unique environment, but it isn't hard to imagine a more typical corporation facing a similar issue and handling it differently if they happen to have a big shareholder meeting or product launch in the coming days/weeks. Which certainly isn't an excuse...but I can certainly see how most people seem to have left the meeting expecting a slow/quiet investigation instead of swift/loud...which based on the details they seem to have had at the time may not have been the 'wrong' approach. The bigger failures were in the subsequent events.

Video coaches shower with the players? And , as a matter of fact, yeah, I go to the gym with some of my colleagues and there are indeed showers. But I don’t get drunk and try to get under the sheets with them.

Lots of excuses being made here…
